That's true, but there were multiple world champions on the grid this year and they were all beaten because Button and Brawn had a fantastic package. My point is this, say for example Stewart had somehow made a brilliant car in 98-99 Barrichello could have won the championship. Sometimes drivers win titles because of circumstance really. I mean again to take nothing away from Rosberg, Pironi should have been 82 champion.
I've never had too much sympathy for Rubens tbh, because at the end of the day he knew exactly what he was in for when he signed for Ferrari.
I like Rubens think hes a great guy, but he simply isn't good enough to become champion.
If Brazil is going to have a champion in the next few years I think it will be Massa, can't see it being the messiah's nephew either.
Then again some said that about Jenson.
Rubens is much like a number of drivers over the history of F1. For me it is all to do with circumstance.
Let's use Coulthard as an example. He could have been a world champion had he not had Hakkinen and Schumacher in top class cars alongside him at the sametime.
Yeah I know what your saying Ewen, but theres always someone about. There is normally multi world champions on the grid at any time.To my memory there has always been except from after four races in 1994 when there wasn't even a champion on the grid.
