It seem's Felipe also sustained a serious injury to his left eye so this makes his comeback, if any, an even bigger hurdle. I'm very sad about this whole ordeal and my thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and all of his fans. :(

Fortunately, for Massa, the mainstream press have the story all wrong, having mistaken the words of one of his doctors. My sources and Autosport have been quick to point out that Felipe has yet to open his left eye - completely normal given the trauma, and subsequent swelling, to the area.

As of now, no one knows whether Massa's eye has been damaged, with his medical team stating that, due to his current condition, his 'vision cannot be examined'. He may still make a full recovery. :)

Nice post :)
Thanks for the update Stephan!!

Everyone is sad about this, but In my opinion based on a pure gut feeling, Massa will be back racing perhaps for the Brazilian GP!!

I think so too, give the Brazilians a good thing to look forward too, but really if Schumacher poses a minor threat they will keep him in there. Trust me. You know Ferrari ;)

Woah Felipe, hold your horses. Thankfully he was joking, as much as I want to see him back on the grid I'd much rather it was after he'd made a full recovery

"He was joking with his friends and his brother," Altman revealed. "He was telling us that he heard about the Schumacher news, and he told us: 'Let's see if I let him drive the car, because I won't give up.'"

:hehe: Legend

Well this is what I've been wondering about.

We don't know the extent of the damage. From that article, Massa will no doubt be racing the instant they let him. But what is actually stopping him racing within 4 weeks? At the moment, he can walk, eat, etc Really, the thing people seem worried about, is that driving the car again could aggravate his head injury. But then again, who are we to speculate.

I think only the doctors can say when he'll be okay to race again. Massa will go home within the next few days, rest up, and then later whenever they do further checks, we'll know when he starts racing again. Hopefully thats soon.

 Yep. So glad he's doing so well. Look how Lauda came back quickly against all the odds. He'd been badly burnt and given the last rites, and what was it, one GP he missed?? Incredible!! But it must be done safely, like you say its for the doctors to decide.

To be fair, Lauda would probably not have been allowed to come back so early if he had suffered a similar accident in today's world.

I doubt it too, as I said only the doctors can decide.
