Given the same equipment I believe that Lewis would probably win out of the pair simply because of his aggressive attitude to overtaking, Jenson is definitely the smoother driver and looks after his car better but I believe he lacks aggression on the track; has he overtaken a leading competitor on the track this year? He seems to win a lot of races based upon strategy; which of course is managed by the legendary strategist that is Ross Brawn!

I could see Lewis winning most head to heads, but losing out overall due to more DNFs and "adventure" related poor finishes. Don't forget that we still have a point system that rewards consistency over outright aggression.

That is indeed true; but I believe that Lewis is a more consistent driver this year than in previous years, don't forget that Lewis is considerably younger and less experienced in F1; he'll only get better with time. I would like to see a true head to head battle; I would have loved to see Lewis and Jenson both at Brawn this year!

What do you guys think the problem is with the Mp4-24? Why can't MM get that half second out of the car?

Flawed aerodynamics. Their mechanical grip is reasonable, but the whole aero package just does not generate the amount of downforce that they need. It would likely take a complete redesign to get it perfect, although with enough upgrades they could get it to a reasonable level by the end of the season.

We know that it's not the Mercedes engine as that is what powers the Brawn, so it must be an unstable chassis and aero package! If results don't come soon; I believe McLaren will abandon this season to start development on next years car!

Put Lewis Hamilton in Barichello's seat driving the BGP 001, and he'll back on top. No one will even come close.

although i agree that he would be able to claim back the lead i don't think he would walk all over button it would be difficult for him

I think if you put them both in the BGP 001, Jenson would come out on top. It's somewhat logical, when you look at the performance of Button and Barrichello over the course of the season so far.

I'd say Lewis aggressive driving would win, also Jenson seams to struggle setting up his car i believe he even had to use Rubens setup once?

Also Lewis seams to do better when pushed along look at 2007 he was flawless until the end.

It is so hard to say who is actually better. Their driving styles are totally different.

There were reports that it may have been someone from Super Aguri, absorbed by Honda after the team was disbanded, who brought it to them. Whether or not this is true is unknown to me.

Well, look at the issues that Barrichello has had with tyres at a couple of races. Lewis is way more aggressive which, ultimately, would probably cost him a lot more than it costs Rubens at the moment.

like bud says you can't really say for sure, you don't win a world championship by being bad with tires its only affected the result once really i'd say whatever get lewis gets out of his tires he would make up with faster driving.

I think JB the better driver, but LH is faster with his agressive driving and over-taking..

LH is still not that experianced, so give it time i guess

Who is the better driver?

Lewis has obviously shown his potential as a good driver, hes quick and does take risks, I cant comment on him winning the championship as yes he is a good enough driver to do so but it doesnt necessary mean he is a fantastic driver.

Button is obviously quick and manages under pressure, the Brawn car suits him well

I think Lewis is faster. But Jenson has the ability and experience to handle pressure, success and adversity which makes him more reliable.
It remains to be seen if Lewis will ever reach such maturity, but IF AND when he does, he will be hard to beat in a good car and could make himself as cheerable and respected as Jenson.

The BGP suits Jenson pretty well, but i somehow feel that if Lewis was in it, he would be having the sort of trouble Barrichello's having... but if we placed Jenson in the Reb Bull, i think he'd be doing slightly better than Mark Webber...

Doesnt matter much, because AS IT IS RIGHT NOW, Jenson's having deserved and well merited success and I would much rather cheer for him than Lewis.

its hard to compare drivers which both have different styles of racing

lewis = fast and aggressive

where as

jenson = smooth

i would have to go with lewis tho :)

but i would love to see them in the same car :P

LH FOR THE WIN :)

but im glad jenson has finally got a car for him and wish him all the best :)
