There isn't really anything to argue about. It is like this if you want to compare. Lewis Hamilton is like say WBA or Wigan in football. Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso are like Manchester United and Chelsea.
As somebody who is British, I feel these awards are now almost meaningless. The number of people who receive honours is so large that it is not really a surprise to see anybody who has achieved anything of even the remotest significance gets something. In recent years the honours system in Britain has become cheapened, so getting an MBE or whatever is not such a big deal anymore. Therefore, I do not think that anybody can gurn about Hamilton getting something when you see some of the deadbeats who receive honours. Also, as somebody else said, Mansell and Hill got MBEs for their winning the drivers' title, so Hamilton is not getting any preferential treatment at all. Moreover, I do believe Hamilton did deserve an honour of some sort. That he has been driving for an in-form McLaren all of his young career does not detract from that fact that he has shown some moments of tremendous skill and looks like he could become a great driver with another season or two's experience. Finally, though, I would say that I would like to see some recognition given to those 1,100 plus people who were behind Hamilton's success - the engineers and mechanics etc. What I really want to know, however, is when the hell Ron Dennis is getting knighted.
Maybe Ron Dennis should get one at least he has accomplished more than half of those already knighted!
I think I'm right in thinking that DC hasn't been given an OBE or MBE. Disappointing that he hasn't been awarded an honour after 15 years of service to British motorsport.

Yeah but DC didnt do too good.You have to do good to get the award not just stick around for ages.
Congrats Lewis!! Yes Ron deserves the knighthood and Moss deserved an award despite no actual championship. Max desperately wanted to be Sir Max but he blew it when he screwed whores Nazzi style

DC did fine im comparison with many many drivers throughout the history thank you very much.
His success nose dived nearer the end of his career and yes he didn't have just what it took be a world champion, but he's achieved alot more than other drivers ever did or will.
