Concerning Pedro De La Rosa my personal opinion was that McLaren should have made him a driver because he had some spectacular drives a few years ago while subing. Another great talent subjected to being just a 'tester' but thats life.

And what about Gary Paffett? He's been at McLaren longer than Hamilton has. That just goes to show that there's too much talent going to waste thanks to the lack of teams on the grid (and mainly thanks to Ebenezer Ecclestone).

And Paul Di Resta.

Poor guy.

I wonder if you get paid much for being a test driver?

I don't think de la Rosa is that good a driver, but he's certainly a solid enough performer and could have done a hell of a lot better than Kovalainen in 2008. As I said a few times during the season, I wanted Kovalainen to be demoted to test driver for 2008 and de la Rosa to be given a chance. Let's face it, at the end of the day, he could have done no worse than Kovalainen.

I do feel a bit sorry for Paffett, particularly because there have been so many false dawns for him over the years. That said, I think McLaren could do better: di Resta, for instance, looks a much, much better prospect. There is no room for sentiment in sport, particularly Formula One; you have to be good enough - and I do not believe Paffett is.

Paul Di Resta had a good season in the DTM, but was plagued with alot of bad luck which robbed him of the title.

I dunno why he hasn't been given the Force India seat. Surely Mercedes could have kicked out Fisi?

How about putting the initials into the swear filter, so they get changed to the real names?

Could be tricky: JV, e.g.

No Fisi brings good experience and input so he should stay.

Sutil will probably only get kept on because Ron still thinks he's the best driver to act as the "thorn in the side" for Ferrari.

Jos the Boss and Charlie Oldtown have both the same initials. Consider AS as well...

fair one, but perhaps we could start with current drivers... maybe lol

Past drivers will always be an integral part of F1 discussions, so you can't avoid those issues. RB could be Ross or Rubens or Red Bull - it depends on the context. A blind editing function would invariably make mistakes
