If it wasn't for Nelson, the Singapore GP wouldn't be in such a mess and we could have an potential super close driver's championship race.

I hope Renault will get a new driver to replace him in 2009. NELSON PIQUET really suck!

He didn't cause either of Ferrari's problems Sunday. Anything can happen in this sport at any time, including accidents, so we can't curse him for it any more than we can curse any other drivers for it, and sooner or later they all crash. Kimi's done it, Lewis rear-ended Kimi a while back.... It happens. It still didn't cause the blunder with the fuel rig and didn't drive Kimi into the wall near the end of the race.

I agree he didn't cause any of Ferrari's problems on race day. Rather i was judging him on his performances for the entire season and i feel that there are more talented and deserving drivers in F1 who should be given a chance to showcase their skills.

I hate it when an race incident cause by a crappy driver like him turns the entire race into a mess...

Sorry Piquet, but i think you better just stick to GP2

I still remember him and his father, stating he could beat Lewis and Kimi etc. ...
He didn't do 1 racemile and he crowned himself as a champ ... :irked:

From F1 Live:

Nelson Piquet has admitted he might lose his Renault seat because the team is under pressure to sign a French driver in 2009.

The Brazilian rookie has enjoyed better form lately at the wheel of the improved R28, but he said a mostly difficult season could mean he will drop out of the team.

"I think Renault are in need. It's been a few years since they had a French driver," the 23-year-old is quoted as saying by Reuters.

22-year-old Romain Grosjean, a Renault test driver and GP2 racer, was born in Switzerland but he competes with a French racing license.

It is rumoured that, should Piquet Jr be replaced, he could head to Honda next year, where new backer Petrobras is pushing for a Brazilian driver for 2009.

"There are always discussions," Piquet admitted.

"Paddocks are not very big: we talk. Everyone knows what everyone is doing. Everyone is waiting for the other's decision."

First and foremost, he is waiting on Renault's decision, as the Enstone based team pushes for Fernando Alonso to stay for next year.

"I don't know what is happening," Piquet is quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

"(Renault) will make a decision, maybe they have already done that. But I haven't been told anything yet."

He believes even a great performance and result at his home race this weekend, the last of the 2008 season, will not alter the outcome.

"I don't think it will make a difference, we've had 17 races already," he said.

"It wasn't the year I expected, but I learned a lot."

I think, Nelson, that there's a little more to them wanting to kick you out than the fact you are Brazilian and Grosjean is French.

I don't like Piquet SR that much he started all that s*** when he tried to wind up mansell by calling his wife and crap.

And i've read an article in F1 racing when he went on about his son was in F1 and Mansells sons were in Formula 3

hes a abit of gobshite.

As I have stated on another topic, IF Nelson is signed for 2009 I WILL EAT MY ARM

Piquet may have had a sub-par season, but you have to remember that this is his first season in the sport with very little experience driving a Formula 1 car prior to it. You can blame the FIA for that. There should be far more testing and development opportunities for younger drivers to get to grips with the sport whilst they are in a testing role for a Formula 1 team. Nelson was great in GP2 and I find it hard to believe that his ability has just disappeared overnight.

Blame everything on the FIA. The weather, Global warming, the credit crunch...

Nelson Piquet Senior is an obnoxious, arrogant, deluded asshole. Calling Ayrton Senna a homosexual, suggesting Mansell's wife was ugly and insulting his family is just utterly disgraceful and the mark of classless man.

As Ron said about Alonso last year "competitive animals know no limits"

Perhaps on the track, but slanderously insulting people and their families like that is completely unnecessary and well beyond the line.

You are very much correct.
I would prefer to be a good person and not be the best at a sport, than be the best and be a horrible person.

If he pulled off that stunt today he'd have his superlicence revoked - unless he was in a Ferrari of course.
