The FIA are only enforcing the anti-tobacco laws where it is banned. It's not banned in Bahrain so the FIA don't enforce it, that's why like I said earlier Ferrari still use Marlboro because they're happy for their name to appear on the car where it's allowed and for the barcode to be used where it's banned. I'm sure McLaren would be doing the same thing too if they still used Marlboro as well, and if West were happy to do exactly the same likewise.

McLaren did do it, albeit with a different brand.

hey mike you see the difference. they ended their sponsporship with tobacco company West to honor the EU ruling!

in other posts on this topic you have never had anything to input other than turn it onto McLaren and turn it into a McLaren vs Ferrari thread! you have turned it onto hey alcohol is just as bad look at McLaren
now you turned it on McLarenfans sig and avatar for having pictures of his favourite driver in Senna in a McLaren( which Senna was only EVER in Marlboro red)

and by doing all this youre turning the thread away from the true meaning which is in this day 2008 not 1988 Ferrari are going around the system and having Tobacco sponsorship because Marlboro is giving 100 millions of dollars in cash.

I was just showing what hypocrites you and McLaren Fan are and apparently I was pretty successful at that because each time you attack Ferrari, I can turn it around just as easily and prove that McLaren's poop stinks as bad if not worse than Ferrari's. So, give it up bud, move on and focus on the upcoming season with all the exciting races - that should be what gets your juices going, not your petty quibbling about the Marlboro sponsorship

Well bud, I didn't turn this one onto McLaren, but we all know that you don't read threads very carefully as you yourself stated, so we don't expect any high degree of accuracy in your posts anyway. :roll:

All I was doing was counter that rather insidious swipe at Ferrari by McLaren Fan to point out what a hypocritical statement that was when he displays pictures with cigarette sponsorship all the time. Then I gave a perfectly on topic explanation why Ferrari gets away with it. YOU took it from there and ran with it. Please stop this kind of behavior and then on top of everything point fingers at everybody else when it goes downhill from where you take a thread with your name calling and offensive language. :shock:

I don't see Ferrari's barcode as any different from all the cars that substituted something in countries with the ban, Like Buzzin'&Hornets,or anything the other teams did. They all obviously made them as close to the real name, appear in such as way as to evoke the image in your mind, as possible, just being barely outside the line of brand representation. They still got their selling accomplished. Might as well do anything you can get away with, right?
