I'm very anxious to see how Bourdais perform's I think his talent is just the kick in the arse that the team need's.

And also it's about time we had another French driver. Now some of you may not like it but I personally miss the days when there were French drivers left right and centre, now you would say that about German drivers.

You mean the days of Rene Arnoux, JP Jabouille,Didier Pironi, Patrick Tambay, Alain Prost, Jacques Laffite, and Patrick Depaillier?
I have to admit those were some fine times for F1. Who can forget Rene Arnoux and Jacques Villeneuve battling for 2nd place behind JP Jabouille in the '79 French GP? Rene again fighting from the back of the grid for 2nd spot at the '84 USGP. Who can forget Imola '83 when Tambay won driving the #27 car of the late Gilles Villeneuves?
This period is one of my favorite in F1 history and alot of the drama was provided by French drivers. I loved the turbos!

Jacques in '79? You mean Gilles, right? :)

It's after watching that classic battle when Villeneuve and Arnoux banged wheels many times in the final lap that you feel sick everytime you see Alonso acting like a child over some puny scratch on his McLaren after he overtakes Massa at last year's European Grand Prix. At that moment Gilles turned in his grave, but then turned the right way back up when Massa was banging wheels again, but with Kubica at Fuji on the last lap and they sportingly shook each others hand after the race.

With mechanical grip looking to become the main emphasis from 2009 onwards, I hope we get to see such great battles again. :)

+1000 those were the day's :wink:8) ! In that era we still had maverick's who took a ride just so they could drive and compete, it's an era I hold dear to my heart :) .
