Laughable, the only way Lewis Hamilton will win is if Kimi crashes out. Ie if he gets lucky.

as laughable as Kimi getting lucky in Brazil when Lewis had his troubles?

So there you go AKR, looks like you're in a minority now ;)

Actually, I think AKR is right. I'm pretty sure Kimi has Australia locked up tight as it stands right now. Might be different by then, but that's my perception as of now.

The prediction's AKR make's is not the concern it's the context in which they are relayed or portrayed. You know why I avoid prediction's? Because I have seen too many race's that were basically dominated by a team or driver only for something to happen on the last lap.

Prediction's are like asshole's, everyone has one but neither of them hold any relevance until the checked flag wave's.

Kimi will drive off into the distance, Massa backing him up making it a 1-2

Alonso takes out Hamilton at the first corner

Whilst I remember, one thing I can predict if Coulthard suddenly finds himself in the lead would the the moment is starts to rain even slightly, he'll wave his hand like crazy and hope that Charlie Whiting's been drinking too much Red Bull and stop the race for him.

I've said it before, but I'm willing to bet that most of DC's safety concerns come from having not driven without traction control as a safety net for ten (?) years or so. Once he gets past a few races this season, it will all be forgotten and he'll be enjoying it all again. After all, a lot of his wins with McLaren were in the era without TC. :)

With Ferrari on myside I will never walk alone :) thus I will never be a minority. (Oh crap now I sound like a Liverpool FC supporter my not so favorite team). My predictions are not based on my arrogance. My nature is my nature and I can't but help myself. My predictions were based on the fact that 1) Ferrari have been quickest so far in testing, 2) Ferrari are the World Champions and so is Kimi thus have boasting rights to claim they are the best, 3) Ferrari finished the last race in Brazil quicker and better than the opposition and that is a fact. Even if Hamilton had finished higher and won the drivers title, the Ferraris still would of come 1 and 2 that day and 4) last year Kimi blitzed it in Melbourne and Massa would of come second had his gearbox not stuffed in qualifying. So there you go, a prediction based on facts (that can go wrong don't get me wrong) but not on my arrogance. By the way if Ferrari does loose to McLaren in Melbourne I sure hope it rains afterwards as I will walk in the rain in self bitterness......... and I will never walk alone as Ferrari will be with me always. :D

Certainly.

But the best driver in the Brazilian GP by far was Nico Rosberg. ;)

You could be right. I never got to watch the race. Only arrived in Rome a few hours before and had a long flight so didn't watch the race. In fact I was expecting Lewis Hamilton to be world champion by then and was surpised and filled full of joy when I learnt that that wasn't the case. I hope Roseberg does well in 2008. We need some other different teams step up the pace and challenge Ferrari and McLaren. Williams appears to be doing well in testing from what I have read. This year could well be the start of the comeback for Williams. So hopefully Ferrari wins the title, Williams wins some races so come 2009 when its time for someone else to win, then it can be hopefully a nice team like Williams the takes the final honours. :)

He did amazingly well, in my opinion. To finish fourth, ahead of two BMWs and a McLaren, is pretty great when you consider that the Williams wasn't the greatest (nor the worst, mind you) car that season. Kimi's drive, whilst it won him the championship (well, with a little help from pit stops that helped him overtake Massa), wasn't really spectacular. Nor was that of Alonso or Massa. Hamilton's was good, but the three-stop strategy kind of screwed him out of a real shot at winning the championship.

I think that Williams should win the 2009 championship. Of all the teams on the grid, they're the most deserving of any championship win. I have a lot of respect for Sir Frank and Patrick Head, and Frank's passion for the sport and his unwavering commitment, even after his accident, is most admirable. Whilst I'd like the 2009 champions to be Honda and Button or Barichello, Williams would definitely deserve it more. :)

Williams suddenly seems to be flavour of the month, even getting support from dedicated Ferrari fans. Is it the old syndrome that people expect them to win so they will support, or are Ferrari fans hedging their bets - just in case? :o

I don't think it's either. Williams are genuinely showing progress. And out of all the teams that are testing currently, they are the ones showing most of it. 2008 will see them battling for third or fourth place in the WCC (assuming no teams get disqualified again) and I think they will get several podiums. The regulation changes in 2009 might even the field a little, giving them a chance to build a car capable of taking the championship. :)

Yes, I absolutely agree Denthú, thats my point. Williams do look as if they could challenge for major points - so, some may 'support 'them - just in case!.

Its sad that lots of 'fans' will only support those that they believe to be winners, if the winners start to lose then these 'fans' change allegiance. (I'm not suggesting that the likes of AKR would change. If Ferrari were to become big losers I think that poor old Kiki would have to commit suicide!) At least though she is a real fan.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's pretty evident that I'm not along those lines. I supported Jordan from '98 to 2005, and now I'm backing Honda, though I've always had such a level of respect for Williams that I'd be happy to see them on top, and get a little sad when they're doing poorly. But not as much as would be the case if Honda went to the top or dropped (not so far) down to the bottom. It's a combination of character and the desire to improve that I like in a team. Well, desire to improve and then actually doing everything they can to do so (the difference between Honda and Toyota). If they win, that makes it even more special. :)
