I have a sneaky suspicion they aren't advertising the fact Kimi is their golden boy. Probably because they've come under a lot of fire from non Ferrari fans that they don't let their drivers race. So they might not advertise it, but the team is Kimi's... IMHO...

Like that will ever happen!

Ferrari have favored one driver for years - often without the driver agreeing and nothing has been nor will be done against the friends of the fascist.

That happens because Kimi is experienced but he was the new one. LH was a rookie, once you have demonstrated your skills you can have a better treatment, but give him all the advantages will make him a loser when he has no one prepared on his side... you'll find next year...

Absolute rubbish and nothing less than we'd expect from block head Spanish. When is your country going to get it into their thick skulls that Alonso had NO right to better equipment. Alonso was beaten by Hamilton is the same equipment but with less experience. Face it dude, Fernando is no longer the king of the castle - he's just the (very) dirty rascal!

I know there is an ongoing thread about Alonso leaving McLaren and some my whine about this being a repeat thread but I dont want to discuss his leaving here, I just want to discuss one sentance of his press release:-

"I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win."

WHAT THE F____!!!!!!!!!

Him and his country, him and his damn government have harped on for months about how the team was bias against him. McLaren, Ron Dennis and the people of Great Britain have been labled racist by SPanish ministers.....Ferrari fans and the team itself have laughed lengthily because of Alonso's claims that McLaren are as dubious as the team from Italy.....

And finaly, when its all over he says:--

"I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win."

All I can say is un-fahook-hin-bee-leee-va-bull!!!!!

Well... it is mentioned on F1-live.com (quote) "... that he has been warned by McLaren officials that he risks legal action should he continue to malign Ron Dennis' team in subsequent musings to the press". (end of quote)

Other thing is - while it was initially said he will not be allowed to drive for teams (partially or completely) owned by car manufacturers (BMW, Toyota, Renault...) it seems that he IS allowed to drive for whoever he wants... so maybe his sudden mildness toward McLaren could be related to that as well.

One way or the other, he is out of McLaren, I hope he'll find a good drive - I'd like more competitors for the next season's title, not less.

legal action what a bunch of garbage. what are they going to sue him for and what are they going to try to accomplish send him tio jail.i can understand that people who are against fa want to believe that rd threw the contract in his face and fired him but until i see a videotape of their meeting i doubt that very much. i have never seen a contract of a f1 driver but i imagine with the
legal council both parties have things were probably a lot more civilized. fa wanted to leave and rd wanted him to leave. at the end of the day this is just business and it was in the interest of both parties to go different ways.

I agree . Alonso had a lot of nerve expecting Mclaren to favor him over Hamilton . What has Alonso ever done ? You seem like a very smart guy . I think we're going to get along just fine . We have so much in common . 8)

why should Alonso need favouring if he is world champion? why should McLaren have hindered Lewis slowed him down just to please Fernando? surely his superior skills will get him over the fence at the end of the day? If McLaren did give Fernando favouritism or even Lewis either one favouritism they would have won the drivers title with ease. fact they didnt proves they didnt favour either one.
end of story now Espanola's sing a new tune

So... do you guys think LH did OK not to obey team strategy in Budapest..?

I really don't know all the sh*t that was happening in McLaren, but for that single thing I'd be very pissed of at LH... also at the team for not sanctioning LH in any way.

My point is - if FA expected to be MS in the team, I'd be first one to wish him to... take off; but if FA felt that RD is seeing LH as "my boy" and his team as "we", while FA and his team were "them" (like David experienced before), then I think he has every right to have a grudge or two against RD & Co.

Now... at this point I don't know what REALLY was situation in McL, so I hope some of that at least will surface in the following months. As someone mentioned FA is also not an easy character to bear with, but hey, his complaining in Renault is miles away from what was happening in McLaren, so i'm really not sure that he was such an jack... just because he IS who he is. Someone pushed his buttons and I think it was not just the fact that LH was fast as he was.

His complaints at Renault were similar in so much as he complained that the team were not doing enough to help HIM....the mighty Alonso (legend in his own lunch box). He whined and whined - and that was in a team where he was the clear no.1!

I have several guys work under me (oh err) and though I like some more than others, I favor none in our working relationship. It was the same at McLaren. Hamilton is a young eager pup where as Alonso was this prima Donna dude who thought the team owed him a WDC or six. Ron obviously liked Hamilton better, but I don’t think for a minute that this affected the equipment and support they received.

Some Ferrari fans would like people to believe that Ron was favoring Lewis to allow them to feel better about their own teams dubious and illegal team orders.

Well put. I think the fact that the FIA deemed it necessary to put an 'official' in the McLaren garage in Brazil should have been a clear indication to FA that he shouldn't be screaming for worship. If the rule book says there's no team orders, why make such a song and dance about there not being any?

I don't doubt for one minute that RD preferred LH. Who wouldn't? But I also don't think that RD would be stupid enough to limit one of his drivers chances. Especailly when he had one driver with a proven capability to win a WDC, and another that can drive just as fast. He might well have a special relationship with LH, but I firmly believe that he wouldn't give one of his drivers better equipment/opportunity than the other. Same with Montoya and Kimi, Mika and DC.
