I think Ferrari got a fine with the Massa pit lane incident also. Heikki's 25 second penalty is a retrospective drive through so although they didnt dish out the penalty during the race, the Stewards kept the punishment consistent for once!

before I read the posts in theis thread, I will just say that Button did some really skilled driving today, a couple of banzai passes, and proved he's a worthy champion.

What Lewis did to Rubens is regrettable but let's not be too hard on Lewis. Believe me I am no big Lewis fan but I believe this to be just a mistake. All the drivers make mistakes, even the good ones. Sure it had dire consequences for Rubens, so unfair as to be stomach turning taking all those points from Rubens, and I think Rubens should be fuming at Lewis, and I do think Lewis should be handed some form of penalty, but only insofar as he committed an error.

Two points, the Lewis and Barichelo thing was just a racing incident not an error but if you want to argue blame you could equally well say that Rubens left no room and squeezed Lewis.

Point two it made no difference to the championship, even if Lewis hadn't overtaken Rubens Jens would still have won.

Rubens' puncture was caused by Hamilton? If so, then it was just a racing incident, don't see why it should be fined

Button needs to worry about the KERS cars,i bet Lewis and Heki are past him by the first corner.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

As long as button gets no points ill be happy.

The Champ will be on his bottom...:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I see Trulli got a fine too despite blaming Sutil :hehe:

Jarno Trulli has been slapped with a fine for his aggressive altercation with Adrian Sutil during Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Trulli and Sutil were ordered to appear before the stewards following their first-lap collision, which forced both as well as Fernando Alonso out of the race.

The Force India driver was boxed in and Trulli tried to fight round the outside of but failed and crashed into the side of Sutil's car.

The Italian was quite upset with Sutil after the incident and he was seen pushing the German on television.

The stewards, though, found it was just a racing incident but decided to fine Trulli $10 000 and officially reprimanded him for his behaviour as it was a breach of the sporting rules.

I bet Trulli will still be whinging about the incident at Abu Dhabi, serves him right for blaming anybody but himself. :P

In my opinion Jenson isn't a great champion, he was lucky at the start of the season with his Brawn GP car being top of the class, but during the second half of the season, when the other teams were catching up with their cars you started to see Jenson's limited abilities. Especially in qualifying. But the guy who has the most points at the end of the season is champion and he had the most points. Bring on 2010. :D but never the less some awesome overtakes yestaday :) But Lewis Number 1 in 2010 :)

There have been a number of past WDC's who had the best machinery and scored just enough point's to win the title. To me a great champion is one who realizes what they must do to secure the title and if that mean's just scoring points then sobeit. Was Jochen Rindt not a great champion because he won the WDC posthumously after being killed during practice for the 1970 Italian GP?

Jenson's downfall starting the second half of the season only mean's, atleast to me, that he was not as good at setting up the car as Rubens was/is. Anyway we all have our opinion concerning JB's WDC title  .

Button's single biggest problem in the second half of the season was his one-lap pace - and when the field is as close as it has been this season, that can be incredibly detrimental. His race pace has mostly been good, but god knows it's hard enough to overtake these days unless the following driver has a huge pace advantage over the car in front.

On that note - how good were some of Vettel's moves though?!

This is why F1 is becoming boring, drivers are getting penalized for celebrating too much or for confronting other drivers about an accident . Yeah of course it was Trulli's fault, but it sure was fun seeing him make a douche of himself.
