Not this again, McLaren's crappy driver management that year handed the WDC to Kimi, where Ferrari used a No1 and No2 system for the latter parts of the season.

Fast team-mates rarely work go together in a team. It's like trying to accommodate Drogba, Torres and Anelka into a two striker system, it may be an exciting prospect for the fans, but it rarely seems to work.

Obviously the other extreme is to not have a Hekki or 2010 Massa who costs you WCC too much in the WCC.

Oh come on!! Lewis was never taken on as a fast team mate...he was a rookie, there to learn the ropes from Alonso (who incidently was worried about the team taking on a rookie in case he didnt score enough points for the constuctors :rofl: yep dream on Alonso!) Anyway, turned out rookioe was faster than expected and Alonso couldnt hack that. Well good job he got sacked from Mclaren then, cos Mclaren dont favour drivers, they let them race. Funny concept that.

:yes::thumbup:

That's why he's signed with the Scuderia for the next century. Because they'll always be brought down to their knees when things don't go his way and he duly throws the toys out the pram. :hehe:

As i missed it from being a naughty boy, WOW. WHAT. A. RACE.

As per usual Jenson wins because Mclaren (again....no no sorry again again, oh no wait its again again again  ) Muck up his strategy.

Do they want to win championships or do they want to win best equal teammate award? Theyre both treated equal already you dont need to get button winning in order to keep proving it?!

Im sorry but Whitmarsh is definitely supporting Button here. How could it possibly be always Lewis that gets done over.

Anyway apart from another race loss through Mclarens shitty strategy it was a great race, the first few laps were heart pounding and Vettel put on a good defensive show.

Some people are saying tis a fluke but i think its definitely clear that mclaren have a faster car then red bull now, vettel put in a super lap to get pole and Hamilton fluffed the final corner.

McLaren do seem to be in a much better position pace-wise than last season, which is hugely encouraging. I expect the monkey on Red Bull's back will be Monza again. My only hope is that, this time, McLaren get both cars to the finish and make the most of the opportunity.

Its certainly going to be thrills and spills for the rest of the season, i mean, Mclaren blitzing red bull in race pace at Hungary for christs sake, of all tracks! they almost did them in quali too!

Questions i want to know are: Can we please see Vettel retire a couple of times, that would be great for the WDC

Will this set up Mclaren and say Ferrari to be the top teams in 2012, ill be damned if Red Bull pull out another advantage and the same happens next year, let the domination end already!

A couple of retirements for Vettel will bring the championship to an exciting conclusion. He still has a massive advantage, not only in terms of points either. This is because he now has 4 rivals behind him (the usual 4) that are all taking points off each other. Vettel is going to have to have some massive bad luck to loose this advantage he has now.

McLaren and Ferrari have hashed-up a few first parts of seasons now...2009 being the worst case, but also to lesser extents '10 and '11. If they managed to get things right straight away, like they used to, then they'd be formidable... like they used to be....

These pretenders come and go....like Renault came and went a few seasons ago, but you always know the 2 titans will always be there. 2012 will be pure McLaren VS Ferrari again, but let's try and bring the "drinks company" to Earth this year first. :drink:

Actually Hammer i was rather hoping Red Bull werent a flash in the plan you look at Ferrari and its history and you see its Ferrari, then the serious proffessional Mclaren team and its history, id like to add another permanent team to these two, after all, a 6 way title fight is better then 4......

Red Bull seem serious but with this unique take on F1, two un-PC restricted drivers who are both humourous funny guys, one a soon to be double champion, they have the livery (cause lets be honest its an immense looking paint job) and they have the funding and talent at their disposal.

This si not to mention that Mateschitze is at every other race and is totally comitted and dedicated to this F1 team, i hope and think theyll be there to stay, especially with the budget thing, they wont just go away, even when Newey does.

All i want is for Ferrari Mclaren Red Bull and Mercedes to produce consistently front running cars in 2007/8 style where its a fight to the end!

Oh yes I agree totally! I've stated a few times before that my ideal championship would be McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes fighting all the way for the title, with Williams and Lotus stealing the odd wins here and there. :D
