"Q. But he was braking much earlier than you?

LH: Well, that's his driving, that's all. That is how he drives. If you don't have the balls to brake late then that is your problem! At the end of the day, in those situations it is the driver who can feel the grip more and put the car more on the edge. And I know I am great in those conditions. I felt the grip more than him, I knew where to place my car and I did place it in different positions to him and I found the grip."

That type of comment was the reason I started disliking him. To call out an experienced driver like that is complete BS. A driver brakes early for a lot of reasons...brakes are fading, trying to save his tires, trying to upset the rhythm the guy behind him, aero is screwed up....there is just no reason for an amateur to insult someone like that in the press, let alone a professional. That was when he needed a professional manager to smack him upside his head and tell him he was alienating fans with comments like that. Instead, he had his father who was giving him the "That's my boy, you'll get inside his head with that one" line of crap.

If a driver is going to call out other drivers like that, he had best be a Schumacher or a Senna and be able to back it up with flawless drives....which Hamilton is far from. I have yet to see hamilton string together 3 or 4 flawless drives. He always seems to follow a great performance with a complete bonehead rookie screwup. In that regard, Button has surpassed him easily with this year's string of drives.

yeah it was a stupid comment but it was a fairly emotional and stressful time, i think most of us would have said something stupid if a fairly fought race win was taken away from you!

Do you like or dislike Kimi because he's said far worse than that.

Not saying he was right to say that but he' just lost the win soo.

I have to say, "monkeys at the back" was a far worse comment than that. And that is where I found my disliking of Hamilton's attitude. At least this season (after the lying nonsense was sorted) he has managed to just shut up and drive. :)

don't know if anyone seen this but Murry was asked (at the end) who he would have in his team.

his Final choice - Lewis and Jenson

It's a good pairing in terms of driving. One reliable, smooth old hand with a lot of consistency. One do-or-die hyper-fast racer.

That's just made me think of something, Button's always a very fair racer but if he was up against someone like Kimi he'd have to be a lot more aggressive, can he be?

If you need to see Jenson being aggressive, I'd go take a look at the 2004 Großer Preis von Deutschland

thats not what i was expecting lol its not that aggressive at all :)

Of course not, because it's not like he raced his way from 13th to 2nd one-handed.

Mostly during the pitstops and from other driver errors. It took him 5 or 6 laps to set up the move on Alonso which he made stick on his second attempt. I'm not critisizing as I think Butoon's a great driver but I just wonder if he can be a bit more aggressive if he needs to be than he's shown in the past.

As for Hamilton, he's shown he can be but needs to get it a little more under control although he has made some gutsy moves and made them stick as well as making some mistakes.

to me thats what makes him so entertaining to watch, he`s not content to just sit and become part of the procession during the race, if he has the slightest chance of an overtake move he goes for it

Post up Kimi's comments and lets analyze them. As far as Hamilton just losing a win, and that justifies him saying Kimi has no balls in the press like that....I might, and I mean might, buy that if it were the only time he has chosen to put down other drivers...but the monkey's comment (do you think he considers himself a monkey at the back now?) etc etc etc have proven that he THINKS that way....not slipped and said something he didn't mean. I've also never heard of a retraction or an apology on his part. I know he is your favorite driver and there is nothing wrong with that but you can't seriously believe every bad thing he does is justified and that he has never been in the wrong..can you? I know you said you were not saying he was right to say that, but you also never say he was wrong....not matter what he does. You can admit something he did in the past or will do in the future is wrong and still have him be your favorite driver. There really is no need to justify things that are beyond justification. He was wrong in saying what he said (pick your example), but that doesn't mean he can't drive.

For example, Alonso was wrong in being such a cry baby when McLaren was wronging him. He is still considered one of the best drivers out there, but that doesn't mean he wasn't wrong at the time. Crying to the press is never a good thing. I think his parking in pit lane was a much stronger statement of what treatment he would and would not take from his team mate....but....then he screwed that up by denying what it was he was doing. What Alonso should have said to the press was something like this:

"The team takes turns with which of us goes out first for quali. When it is my team mates turn, I let him go out and wish him luck. When it was my turn...Lewis was not willing to do the same. He ignored team orders and jumped out in front of me. The point of waiting until the last moment is you get the advantage of more rubber on the track, higher track temps and lower fuel in the car. I was supposed to be the last one on track, so I timed the pits to insure that I was. Team orders were followed, the plan worked as it was designed...my team mate wanted to change the plan to benefit himself, and he is unhappy with the way it ended...but I am not. I would and will do the same thing if the situation repeats itself. If my team will not make sure that I am not harmed by my team mate, then I will do so myself...and if that means I take a 5 spot penalty every single race, so be it."

But instead, he played dumb...which only made him look stupid. My point being that even your favorite driver can say or do something stupid...defending someone doing something wrong doesn't make your more of a fan....rather more of a lamb. Think it over.

Race drivers can be sometimes arrogant but Lewis is guilty of that but so are many other drivers and you can't seam to see that you can just see LH's Problems.

And it gets abit boring when you drag up stuff from last year when we've seen this year his attitude has improved.

"Please Miss, he said nasty things to me." "Please Miss he's not being a nice boy." Some people are sounding like big girls blouses on here! Good job they dont find themselves in the heat of F1 battles. The greats do use psychological tactics on their opponants (Schumacher) And they act on instinct and emotion (Senna). Lewis is not the first and will not be the last great driver who says something unwise in the heat of the moment. You are refering to incidents from a year ago!!! Get over it!

I find it rather strange that those who are complaining the most about the past being brought up, are the same one who still drone on about Schumacher every chance they get, or Alonso's crybaby fits of a couple years ago. Odd how that is...eh?

And Longbow...I've thrown Alonso under many a bus for the way he handled the McLaren affair and Schumacher has often been criticized by yours truly...though his driving skill must be recognized. While you love to say I have only picked on your beloved, the truth is when a driver says or does something stupid...and someone else brings up the conversation, I feel free to join in. That is what these boards are about right? Or have I absentmindedly wandered into the Hamilton love-in knitting circle? The reason you so often read my words about Hamilton is because no matter what the topic, whichever driver, track or car is being discussed...one of the few of you is going to bring up Hamilton....and if you bring him into the discussion...then we should all feel free to discuss him. You and yours will discuss his dreaminess, while the other side discusses his faults. Such is life. And this particular topic has has name in it...so it should not be too awful distressing for you to read that he has his faults...though you certainly need not believe they exist. You could try covering your eyes and yelling...I'm not reading that! I'M NOT READING THAT!

Might work.
