Maybe Mark thought Maintain the gap meant pass him and get 3 seconds ahead of him? :hehe:

Well, Sebastian was in 2nd position in Malaysia. Maybe he thought multi 21 meant "driver now in 2nd position must take 1st" :hehe:

That clip just shows Mark putting the Red Bull's balls by Vettel's face and then backing off, showing he was faster than Vettel that day.

Mark was very clear about his actions: “I ignored the team and I was battling to the end.”
In 2012, he again was very clear that he has no intent on obeying teamorders.

Both from Webber's standpoint (being screwed over by your team-mate), as from Red Bull's (having a driver disobey teamorders), Vettel's actions were not unique. Even the now debunked myth that it was not a fair fight because Webber's car was turned down was a bust anyway, as Mark disobeyed teamorders while Vettel's car was actually at a disadvantage, as its KERS was bust.

As he often is when the car isn't perfect.

Leaving aside the 'often' discussion, Webber was faster at the end of that day because 1) Vettel had a screwed-up pitstop and 2) Vettel didn't have KERS.
You can have your digs at Vettel's skills, but don't try to misrepresent the facts of that day.

Nice post

Nice post until you consider I said not often. Malaysia 2012 comes to mind and is all the factual proof I need make.

It's also convenient to leave out things like Webber having a pretty major software glitch in Australia, and smoking Vettel when it came to fast lap. Goes both ways. Regardless only one Red Bull driver is a 3 time world champ, so why not just let results do the talking?

Red Bull will no longer issue team orders to Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. This is according to the outfit's long-time advisor, Helmut Marko, who previously admitted that the battle between the two drivers in Malaysia 'got out of control'.

Having been instructed to hold position behind Webber in the closing stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Vettel overtook his team-mate and claimed the victory. The triple World Champion was hit with a wall of criticsm, leading to a string of apologies.

In a bid to avoid the same on and off track drama at future Grands Prix, the Milton Keynes-based squad is set to allow its drivers to race without team instructions.

"Team orders won't be given by us anymore," Marko explained to Germany's Sport Bild, having stated directly after the race that internal discussions would be held.

In a recent GPUpdate.net poll, asking readers whether Vettel's move for the lead was acceptable, 72 percent of the participants pledged their support to Webber.

So the pre-race "internal discussions" go something like this "Mark, Sebastian is faster than you, stay at least 100 meters behind so we don't have to listen to Sebastian whining over the radio".

That's a big big call, especially for a season which is bound to be close! We should see some good action between the RB drivers I hope. :D
#354193
they're saying no team orders because the drivers don't pay attention to them. :whip:

I don't believe that for a second. There sure will be team orders, just done in a different way no doubt.

Red Bull's Vettel: I don't apologise for winning

Scroll to the bottom of the page below to view the video and hear it from his own mouth.

He ain't got nothin' to apologise for!

RBR would be stupid not to use them.

He apologized 2 weeks ago saying he was wrong and shouldn't have done what he did, but now he's saying he'd do it again and Webber doesn't support the team blah blah. Sounds like the kid is suffering from mild schizophrenia. :hehe:

Will the real Sebastian Vettel please stand up?

There are 3 clear items that come from today's news which I can graft:
1. Sebastian Vettel has taken 3 weeks to surround himself with supporters. This has enabled him to justify his actions in Malaysia.
2. Mark Webber's prediction that Vettel will be "protected" was absolutely correct.
3. At least Vettel has clarified the situation so there can be no misunderstandings in the future.

I think the last item is most important as the temptation from all involved would have been to "sweep it under the carpet".

The decision to selectively identify past issues is crazy, but when you are surrounded by people who think the sun shines out of your bottom....you can believe your own bullpoo.

Answers to a few of your questions
1. SV thought about it and knows it was the right decision. The RB team was the one who made the bad call. MW wont be in the hunt for the drivers title at the end of the season but SV will. SV needs the points more than MW. Bad decision by the team
2. Webber should have been out of RB by now. He hasn't done well as a #2 in supporting his team. He'd be a #2 if he was driving for Williams. He isn't good and shouldn't be driving for a top team. I'd rather have Chilton than Webber

Thats because Sebastian is faster than Mark. Simple stats. Look at the past 3 years of results. Also what are the stats from a poll of the same question from Bild??? Wouldn't be 72%. Question skewed by its audience.

I didn't ask any questions, and I sure as hell wasn't looking for the pathetic responses you just provided.
