I think Mclaren would've gotten away with a coded message to Lewis I think, "you have a problem, Jenson is coming up behind", just curious as to whether they decided to give one or not.

Why woud Lewis need to be told he had a problem? He was well aware he was missing 3rd... He was a sitting duck even if he tried to put up a fight it wouldn't have gotten him anywhere especially exiting the corners without 3rd Jenson would have breezed past him!

I remember Lewis asked 'Is Jenson faster than me?' thats a sign for team orders!! :D

I was only giving an example bud, not suggesting that was what was literally said, unless you disagree what Mclaren would have been able to code a message?

What, he said that efflinitty? In that case I suppose he was already asking if he needed to let Jenson through (ie initiated by Lewis rather than the team", thanks for clearing that up.

This is a juicy conspiracy theory, one that attributes Shakespearean caliber acting to McLaren and boys.

I thought everyone here knew that all teams issue said orders.

The problem is that some are not that...uh...subtle.

Carry on.

I think he said "will Jenson overtake me?" meaning yes, sure I'll turn my engine down if Jens is doing the same, otherwise no sireeee!

One question to the the McLaren fans, should McL back Hamilton now and let Button be a back-up driver for Hamilton? Many have been saying you should support both drivers until its mathematically impossible to win the championship. Having said that, mr Button can still win it as he is only 42 points behind and there are still 50 points up for grabs...

The best decision for the team (so they can win the championship) would be to back Hamilton, but that means someone needs to come down from their high horse ;-)

Lewis doesn't need Jenson to back him up....when has Jenson been in a position to back him up!? Except to NOT overtake his stricken car in Suzuka.

Jenson was a joke today. At least I'm assured Mr Hold Station is unlikely to fluke-finish ahead of Lewis this year in the standings.

At the moment team orders might win Alonso the title as the competition is so tight!

Nice way to avoid answering the question ;-)

He did answer the question, which part didn't you understand?

Ill repeat it for ya.

No, Mclaren don't need to back Lewis because Lewis can do it himself. Jenson couldn't back his own girl up right now let alone Lewis.

Lewis don't need no help from Button.

Their will be no excuses for the button fans this season, they have had equal treatment from start to finish. :yikes:

Okay, not back him up but be a clear 2nd the last two races. Button is just 20ish points behind Hamilton, so surely he can take points from Hamilton. Is it your opinion that if Button is in front of Hamilton, then he should be allowed to be there and the team should not manipulate a change? How they go about that, is of course many way. They can tell the drivers beforehand, in the pits or do it as obvious as Ferrari did it.
