He will be racing next year. There are bound to be more people like me and racechick in the world of Formula one who would give the guy another chance.

Neither of you are running a team that spends hundreds of millions of pounds each year and depends on sponsors who require at least semi-clean reputations when it comes to cheating. Both of you are basing your decisions on the emotion that all people deserve a second chance, while professional team managers realize there are hundreds of drivers whose skill levels deserve a shot at F1...and most of them are not outright proven cheats. F1 is a business....and if the driver is slow AND already proven to be a cheat who doesn't feel guilty or apologize for his actions....then what would possibly motivate a business decision that puts him back in an F1 car? The only possible savior here is money...if he can come up with enough sponsorship dollars (daddy) to practically carry a teams expenses himself...he might get another chance. Otherwise, there are better drivers with cleaner reputations out there waiting for an F1 shot.

Piquet looking to put crash-gate behind him
Nelson Piquet has emerged as a candidate for a 2010 race seat with the new Spanish F1 team Campos, according to the Marca sports newspaper.

With news that the Brazilian driver has lined up a forthcoming NASCAR truck test, 23-year-old Piquet was quoted in the media as insisting that his focus remains on resurrecting his tattered F1 career.

"I want to clear up this business rapidly so it doesn't stay with me for the rest of my life," he said in an interview with Brazil's Globo TV.

Marca reports that Piquet's route back into F1 could be with the aid of his famous and wealthy father, who could become an investor of Adrian Campos' new entry that is set to debut next March.

Asked about his next step in the wake of the crash-gate scandal, Piquet Jr answered: "I need a decent team, a decent engineer. A team that believes in me.

"I don't know which one it will be but I do know I will go back to racing," said Piquet.

He said he didn't even feel guilty, which leads me to belive he's not sorry now.

I agree  .

Ah well have fun with your red neck truck racing.

Are you having fun with your's :D ? http://www.britishtruckracing.co.uk/

It is funny you say that I was chatting to my mate about going to it. It was good last year, and to be honest scary as the run off seem small when there is a couple of tons of lorry careering at you.

Piquet is in high demand here

on a serious note. Look what happended to Tomas Scheckter after his little mistake.

It won't be his SECOND chance. I lost count of how many chances I've given him.:hehe:

But I will give him one more. And I was expecting him to have a good chance with Manor, and wow - the rumour starts up...

I am not sure what to make of this....

Though I would wager he isn't a big fan of any team that shares its name with a popular energy drink.
