Meh. I think Williams just shot themselves in the foot... again, if this series goes through.

If the series goes through, they would face a costly legal battle which would plunge them into a world of finanicial insecurity. The FIA will have Williams and Ferrari in the courts. Ferrari may be able to fight the FIA, but I doubt Williams could on such a scale.

Besides Sir Frank and Patrick know the score, they like Force India have acted with common sense.

Sure they dont have the money to take on the FIA, but they're giving into Mosley's dictatorship. Thats how dictators stay in position, because people just bend over for them and dont speak their mind.

I doubt WIlliams agree in principal with Mr Mosley, but I suppose they have one arm tied behind their back.
If they didn't have the contract looming large over their head, they would probably still be am active member of FOTA.

Usually revolutions happen from within. Mosley will only be deposed on the inside.

I mean, again this is my personal opinion. I understand others are all for the breakaway series and I respect their opinion. I just wish for mine to also be recognized.

And thats just mine too, some people will agree and some wont. I think this is the first time we've ever been in a disagreement. :P

At least we're not in a blazing row over it. :hehe:

Thats because I have respect for you, and your opinion dude. I understand what you're saying, and you have a point but I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

You know who I think would make a good FIA/Fota president, and I know American F1 fans will probably agree with me ... Steve Matchett. The guy truly cares about F1.

Williams' can't be blamed for deciding their own fate. I think there is nothing lost in terms of admiration. Head and Williams have done what they think is best for their company. They really can't afford to fight a legal battle at the moment. Their contract will be water tight.
They did what they had to do.

I don't blame Williams for signing up to Formula One in 2010, but I do blame them for the way they handled their decision. At every turn, they tried to undermine FOTA's position. Due to Williams' arrogance and stupidity, Formula One could have continued to be run in an authoritarian way by Mosley as a spec series.

Yes, but you have to have in mind that they got the money from Bernie in advance. Without that money they wouldn't have existed any more. So, they had to support Bernie and Max. Don't get me wrong, I don't approve their approach, but, they didn't have a choice.

Well at least they're scoring nice hauls of points every race weekend now whilst McLaren aren't. ;)

Like I've said, I don't blame Williams for signing up for 2010; but they should have remained quiet about FOTA's internal affairs, etc.
