Nash has got disqualified from Race 3. He has lost his victory. An absolute disgrace.
Does the MSA not allow simple racing incidents anymore?

Although i obviously dislike the incident, it is annoying when results are changed. Why can't they just give a simple drive through if they feel the need to actually give out penalties? At least they're consistent after what happened at Brands.

Yes but surely Plato should have been hit with a penalty for his move on Turkington in race one? Exactly the same situation. As Tim Harvey said, it was merely because the BMW is rear wheel drive. If Nash had hit a fellow Chevvy there wouldnt have been a spin.

I feel bad for Nash, because I think he deserved the win today, and Collard doesn't exactly have a clean racing past.

EDIT: Also in re-reading your post, I realised that you weren't really objecting to anything I said.. so I apologise if it seems as though I'm arguing with you for no reason. It's late

Another proposal that i'm not very keen to be implemented is the removal of standing starts to try and equalise the BMW's advantage off the line.

I thought under the new proposals the BMW's would be outlawed anyways at the end of the year, so it seems a bit pointless changing it now.

Only just caught up with all of yesterday's action. Nash has been DQed?? That's really unfair :( He only gave Collard a light tap - I think Collard's tyres were badly going off anyway. What about Collard and Neal - they were bashing each other far harder earlier on. Really ridiculous.

Oh, and nice to see another Safety Car incident. Couldn't believe O'neill kept his car out of the barrier!

Good to see ITV stuffing the coverage up too - at one point Breeze was racing in the BTCC (I think they put the wrong timing screen up) and the Porsche Carrera Cup was 124 (?) laps long :hehe:

Paul O'Neill had a great weekend it must be said, so did Nash. I was going to say Vaulkhard too, but then he messed up in race 3 :(

Despite the graphics screw up, ITV do have decent coverage, their camera angles are pretty good... as for Steve well *cough*

Oh no! I was so happy to see him take that win! And the whole crowd gave him such a good reception.

I was gutted for Vaulkhard - he had some really bad luck this weekend :(
I was sitting at the Russell chicane, which just happened to be the place he got spun in the first race, and I could see him go flying off the track at Coram :(:(

More than Louise :hehe:

Anyone know exactly why the Seats are so much worse than last season? Surely it's not all down to a lack of works backing...

I just have to say, man i love the BTCC! :cloud9::thumbup:

edit: Also, the 'pedal cam' is brilliant.

The SEATs aren't as strong this year because they don't have the turbo-diesel power plants. They were withdrawn with the factory backing. They run petrol engines like in the Seat Cupra cup.

Herbert confirms Silverstone debut

Johnny Herbert

Johnny Herbert has confirmed that he will race one of Team Dynamics' Honda Civics in the final three rounds of this year's British Touring Car Championship.

The 45-year-old three-time grand prix winner will replace team leader James Thompson, who is already committed to the WTCC and Australian V8 Supercars, at the Silverstone, Rockingham and Brands Hatch GP rounds.

Herbert, who also won the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours with Mazda, tested a for the team at Rockingham last month but says he needs more time behind the wheel to get up to speed for his debut.

"It will be a challenge, I have no doubt about that," Herbert said. "Guys like Fabrizio Giovanardi and Jason Plato just have so much experience in touring cars, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

"I haven't raced a front-wheel drive car since I did a round of the Spanish SEAT Cup about seven years ago, and the Rockingham test, which was only an afternoon really and didn't give me too much opportunity to really get down to business, so hopefully with a bit more track time I can be competitive."

Herbert will spend this weekend's Knockhill BTCC round with the team, although he will not drive.
