No it's only if the race technically finished under the safety car, but it supposedly did not - Brawn said the SC was technically coming in at the end of the lap.

exactly

AKR you need to lay off the red mist, you once loved Schumi!

It's Schumacher's place. A great move to be fair.

EDIT: Karun needs to have words with Trulli. What a rash move.

Make it personal wtf  ?

Thank you  .
Rule 40.13 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking.

If that's how the rules are worded, then the message indicating that the safety car would be in at the end of the lap should not have been sent, surely?

My guess is that everyone assumed there'd be no overtaking, except for Brawn/Schumacher who radioed the stewards to confirm exactly what the situation was...

That's way too hard. But on the bright side it was only Schumi I guess and not Lewis......

Surprised.
At some pts I was feeling even bad for the Mercs as they had been having a decent race only to end up behind the guy who started from the pits....... had it not been for Luca digrassi making the mobile chicane move on Alonso, he could have ended up even ahead of Lewis after his pits. That would have been so weird.

Great drive by Alonso, and a bloody classic Schumacher move there at the end. :whip: Lewis style... hehe. The mentor is back in town :P

Amazing by Webber. And great run by Kubica.

Gotta wait until the final decision on the pass by MS...... but what a bummer to have such a great drive soured by that little move.

But what exactly is "safety car deployed". Does that mean

a) it's on track
b) its lights are on?

Very very grey area these rules. I don't mind either way if they let the result stand or reverse it, however, due to the greyness of these rules, nobody should get penalised additionally.

Trulli's car was still on track, so, the SC was deployed but had to enter before cross the finish line. Don't think FIA will punish Schumacher, but they'll give him the 7th position, and the 6th to Alonso.

This.

its the second race in a row someones ruined chandocks race. Trulli lost control.

Pretty impressed with Alonso regardless of getting done by Shumacher, he did well to get back into the points.

Massa led a solid race.

Two force Indias in the points is very good, although in terms of who their racing there's not much happening, they can't catch Kubica in the Renault, and Williams and Sauber look to be to far behind.

It's strange that Hamilton had a moan again.

Finally, looks like the Redbulls have got it together, and apparently they have a big update for Turkey. Hope they don't run away with it.

why did the entire field start racing again once the SC came in then? why not just coast across the finish line? As far as im concerned there was race to the finish line and Alonso stuffed up and lost a place fair and square.

.

I wasnt impressed with that so much as it was the SC and subsequent pit stop that got him back into the points, i am more impressed with his tyre management!

The FIA don't have the option to just switch those positions.

.

You either hate it or love it, you call it moaning, i call it emotional. I didn't get the whole radio talk, all I heard was that he couldn't use his front brakes as much and he said "what the hell am i supposed to do then??" Was there anything else?
