I was under the impression that Hamilton recorded his lap before the yellow flags.

yes Amanda - he did... hence his lucky escape .

To be fair Tony how do you know Hamilton wouldn't of slowed down?

Hes the most paranoid driver out there after all the penalty's he got in 08.

As we saw in Australia.

you probably right longbow - i guess he would have slowed as well but here a shot in the dark - do you think he would have recieved a penalty anyway ??

Pointless speculating about that really mate.

Not that lucky really. Most teams had the sense to get their drivers out as soon as possible. Given that we'd already had quite a few crashes, it was silly to wait in the pits and risk not getting a lap in (as Barrichello and Button did).

I agree about Alonso though, I'd love to see his sector times for that lap.

Hmm. I'm beginning to wonder if they're going off fastest overall time, because Alonso did set his fastest lap of the session there. However, that is kind of by default, since previous laps were hindered by the red flag.

Both Brawn drivers only set one lap too so by default it was their fastest. But Ross Barwn has admitted that they didn't attempt to slow down so their penalties are fair. Alonso qualified 12th, out of 13 drivers to post a time, but it was still a fairly decent time at 1:31.638, only 2 tenths off his Q1 time of 1:31.401. I guess he didn't slow down that much.

That's normal. It's effectively a provisional grid until the formation lap begins, really. Autosport have likely just worked it out from the penalties issued already.

Looking good for a Vettle win tomorrow then, perhaps Lewis can KERS him tho and stay ahead.

Thats the reason why I am glad kers is going - unfair advantage by the kers cars. Vettel needs this win !!

Of course its fair, it's not the KERS teams fault for the other teams CHOOSING not to use the technology!

KERS isn't an unfair advantage.

I can't understand why Alonso and Buemi where punished that way

Buemi was penalised for holding up cars and for driving a damaged car that put others at risk.

Nakajima's tanked up isn't he? Is it possible to 1 stop this race?

If you can make the tyres last.

How you figure ??

Because everyone has the choice of whether to use it or not. I don't like KERS, but it's not unfair.
