Rather annoyingly Vettel extended his lead because his closest rival didn't win![/i]

Who is his closest rival you think?

The person that is second in the drivers table... which seems to be like musical chairs right, the drivers title is in flux with the exception of Vettel on top of the pile!

You see, I was asking that question with an agenda in mind: second right now is MW, but how much of a rival to SV is he really?

I'm actually disappointed with this result. It was an absolute cracker of a race though, with the McLarens fighting each other. Hungaroring is one of my favourite tracks.

I don't want this gap to get any smaller so I really Red Bull win again soon. It's now only 83 Points.

Which gap are you talking about???
SV leads by 85, RB lead by 103!!

SV leads by 85. That's a monumental amount. How can you be disappointed if he consistently is making podiums? He's already got the title in the bag, you've got nothing to worry about.

Devastated for Hamilton, with the combination of poor tyre strategy and of course the drive-through penalty. He had such a good race up until then. His pace was amazing compared to the rest of the field in the wet, keeping a very good gap to the next car. I really thought a McLaren 1-2 was imminent but it's a big shame how it all turned out. Well done though to Button, who really thrives in these situations. Great to see another race where RB isn't on the top spot. I was also very happy with Ricciardo finishing in 18th, and well ahead of his teammate and D'Ambrosio.

Overall the race was exciting, and all drivers made their own mistakes TBF. A four week gap now to Spa which is well deserved for the drivers and teams.

Sebs lead to Jenson in the drivers table is exactly 100 points, which means Jenson would need to win 4 races to Seb DNFing 4. the guys ahead are with in the 100-85 point gap which isn't any better, they would still need Seb to have a couple of DNFs.

Agree, Lewis was fantastic right up till that Takagi moment. It's easier to digest he didn't win as this was pretty much his own making. Plus the fact Jenson was actually giving him a hard time in the RACE ( :yikes: ) this time around, and that probably pushed him into a couple of rash decisions, like pitting for inters...while in the lead? Anyway, I won't blame him for that one as he was definitely slower than Jenson (again, :yikes: ) at that point and wanted a change in 'scene' with tyres. Bad call from McLaren for giving him that 'option'...did Redbull give it for Vettel, and Ferrari for their drivers? Mark rolled the dice, fair play to him....but you dont roll the dice when in the lead normally.

Consolation is Spa is next, and the Spa-meister has just lost a win from his own slipup. Revenge in a month's time, till then enjoy the break! :drink:

Man, too bad for Lewis, but even without the Inter decision, it didn't look like he was going fast enough on the options to build enough of a gap. It was also interesting to see his PR lessons evident in the interview after the race.

Either way, great drive by Jenson. Cool that he won on his 200th race.

So stoked to see less wins by red bull. Can't wait for the rest of the season.

Alright... 85!

Still slightly nervous. :(

Seb needs to win a few more. I wanted him to get 17 wins this year and all pole positions this year... And I'm now eating humble pie.

Kimi relinquished that crown to someone else...the day he crashed his car into a wall at Spa while chasing the new Meister in the wet. And NO, its not Massa. :D

Not really. A car with tyre warmup issues (which he'd spent the whole season struggling with), versus one that got them up to temperature very easily, in cold and damp conditions on dry-weather tyres. Hardly a fair comparison. Take the following year: both the Brawn and Red Bull cars were faster than the Ferrari, but Kimi won that race. Mind you, it should have been Fisi's...he was faster, he just couldn't make the pass. :(

Please note, I'm not denying that Hamilton is great around Spa, I just personally think that Raikkonen was better.
