welshie's comment on the Quake thread reminded me that I had a fridge of damsons that needed cooking, so tonight I made damson jam.
My poor father collected about 4 kilos of damsons (as no-one else where they live wants them). My mother got mad and promptly gave me most of them when I saw them at the weekend as she didn't want them 'cluttering up her fridge'. Bearing in mind she actually has two fridges

Dad actually made some wonderful damson jam last year however my mother gave most of it away, lol.
Anyway, work in progress below (if you look carefully, you'll see that there is jam and sugar all over the kitchen

). It looks pretty nasty but IRL it's a wonderful deep crimson colour and smells fantastic. It also tastes good but if taste too much of it you do start to feel a bit

Just crossing my fingers and hoping it will set now!
Got some pumpkin & sesame seed bread proving at the moment so hopefully that will rise and go well with the jam

Just need an apron now. Managed to slop jam (which stains) all over one of my favourite tops
