it's finally happened, a thread that directly involves hamilton (along with all the other 09 drivers of course) hasn't descended into mindless fan ranting. :cloud9:

I had nothing to do with it ...promise !!!!

thats exactly it isn't it?

:rofl: .... had my finger in it somewhere but actually used water on the fire this time instead of something combustable... hehe

Ok I'll bring it back on topic. I have a question. Serious question, and I am casting aside my love affair with Lewis for the moment. I am using logic(little rusty, the old logic cells ..but here goes)

How come so many of you put Alonso first and lewis second? To me it is clearly the other way round. Reasons? Well when they raced together they were pretty equal(though Lewis finished ahead). Lewis was very inexperienced then and Alonso was a two time champion. Since then Lewis' learning curve will have been much steaper and it is generally aknowledged that he is a much better driver now. Which means his improvement since he raced with Alonso will be greater than Alonso's. So back to the question, how come so many of you believe that despite this Alonso has now become better than lewis??

First half of the season Alonso under rated Hamilton and wasn't really fired up.Second half Alonso stopped setting Hamilton's car up and was quicker just about all the time.Driver wise I would have them on a par,but it's not just about driving.I think the way Alonso sets a car up is worth half a second a lap.

In time Hamilton can and probly will surpass Alonso,but not yet.

Im not sure about half a second, not over Hamilton, Hamilton makes it up by ringing the cars neck, and he's just helped steer that McLaren back to the front. Some good points there tho.

I didn't know Alonso used to set up Lewis' car :O. But as it seems he has mastered this skill because he was just fierce this season.

I'll make my list using your position numbers, Juliet.
Just as matter of comparison :D

1->5. Vettel (I'm considering his GREATTTT potential)
2->1. Alonso
3->4. Massa (I know many people will say I'm being biased)
4->9. Kubica (sooooooooooo underestimated here)
5->2. Hamilton
6->6. Button (I used to rate Button higher than Hamilton, but I'm not sure anymore, let's check next year...if they get same conditions, of course!)
7->3. Raikkonen (sooooooooooo overestimated here)
8->10. Rosberg
9->8. Webber
10->13. Heidfeld
11->7. Barrichello
12->11. Kovaleinen
13->12. Glock
14->19. Kobayashi (I know we haven't seen enough, that's exactly why I rate him highly)
15->15. Fisichella
16->17. Trulli
17->14. Buemi
17->16. Sutil
18->20. Liuzzi
19->21. Piquet Jr(Considering he had no work conditions at Renault, I think I not able to rate him)
21->22. Grosjean(almost the same as Piquet, even though I think he got better conditions at Renault, but he had no time to get used to the car)
22->18. Bourdais
23->24. Badoer
24->23. Nakajima
