Hadnt realised Rubens got pole!! Thought it was abandoned after a bit of Q2. Whey! Go Rubens. be so good if he won his home GP.

I hope the championship doesn't end this way, with Jenson winning after tooling around with mediocre performances for most of the season.

I don't mind if Jenson pulls one out of the bag and wins the championship.
I don't mind if Rubens wins twice in a row and beats Jenson. That would be a masterful fightback overall.

But I don't want to see the championship won by tooling around while his competitors don't win enough points.

I don't want Button to win. He will still have plenty of time to become the champ. And after such performances, he doesn't deserve the title. Rubens does, and he is my favourite now.

Why the confusion? Jake said to switch to BBC2?

No confusion, but some people may have other things to do on a Saturday night!

If I'm honest (and I am a huge Button fan), yesterday was the first time that I started to think that it may be better for him - as a driver and as a person - if he doesn't win. It is clearly Rubens' last chance. And Jenson has hardly looked like a world-championship winning driver lately. And it pains me to say it...

its good you can look objecticvely at it, reminds me of when alonso was being hunted when he won for renault, its not nice to have to think, 'i want the chamionship to end now' or, 'just hold on for a few more races'

and yeah didnt watch q2 or 3 because of other stuff to do, like going out lol and also not even knowing if it was going to happen or not!

Not so sure if it's similar because Alonso was still winning races (I assume you're talking about 2006) but then getting screwed over by the FIA - especially at Monza.

This just does not make sense

When BE books races, the last few must get very concerned that the championship is already won, and therefore there will be less spectators. I am beginning to think that BE has contracted to make sure that each championship is taken down to the last race.

Recently, it has happened every time and in my view, it is statistically impossible. I am now convinced that BE bungs money to teams to ensure this happens (or threatens to throw them out of helicopters)

Sadly, I do not believe in F1 any more

Rubens is in a good position for the championship on pole at his home GP and will surely be extremely motivated but seriously lets look at Barrichello luck at Sau Paulo

1993: Ret
1994: 4th
1995: Ret
1996: Ret
1997: Ret
1998: Ret
1999: Ret
2000: Ret
2001: Ret
2002: Ret ( was about to win the race but in the final few laps his car broke down )
2003: Ret ( same with 02 )
2004: 3rd
2005: 6th
2006: 7th
2007: Ret
2008: 15th

He has scored 16 points at his entire time at the circuit and countless times his car has broke down or crashed or somethin in the last few minutes from a good result, so I am assuming he will lose the champ to Button if his typical luck continues.

I dont care who wins out of Jenson and Rubens, I know this will be both of their last chances for a world championship only Vettel will have opportunity for future WCs. Brawn will not be as good in 2010 as they were this year. Ross had the backing of Hondas fascilities last year to help design this masterpiece but next year BGP arent gonna have the resources they did last year with a Honda backing and even if they do get a descent car together Button is gonna be overshadowed by Rosberg who will finally be unleashed. No hope in hell Rubens is ever gonna get another title chance in the Williams. The only title contender who will ever get this chance again is Vettel.

Also, considering that after 2005 people said Rubens would never have a shot at a title, I will refuse to believe that this is his last opportunity.
