Villeneuve hasn't been a good F1 Driver for a long time. Even setting aside ow long it took him to get used to the new rules (Which is a cop out excuse anyway), he was failing to deliver on his claimed promise more than half a decade ago. Aside from which, he's a pretty useless team component - that's how Button and (To some extent) Panis managed to show him the door.

It's entirely plausible that a driver would not be able to adapt to specific regulations. For example, Hill really struggled with grooved tyres in '98 and '99. I don't think Villeneuve was anything spectacular, but I don't think he was as bad as some of his results in later years showed. I think he could have put a lot more effort in at certain points, mind you. A lot.

You can't say nothing like. The Formula One story of Hamilton has several similarities to that of Villeneuve, if you consider it.

no there's just two he won the title i his 2nd year and now he's having a bad year because of the car.

So you can only say there's only one since the car isn't really lewis is it

I've seen it before i think its a stupid comparison.

I mean if Lewis wins tommrow does that mean hes suddenly like Paninis and is never gonna win again?

#1: Comes in to the sport highly-rated having just dominated his previous series.
#2: Nearly wins the title in his first year.
#3: Wins the title in his second year, having been driven in to by a Ferrari driver (albeit not in the final round of the championship).
#4: Enters his defending season in a sub-par car.

What happens from now on will determine whether or not there are any more similarities.


I would actually be interested in seeing if JV could race decently with next year's regulations, to be honest.

1. Not really because JV came from a top level Series in the US not a Junior Series
2. Fair enough
3. Good one on the Ferrari - Fair enough
4. Yeh but thats not really Lewis is it

For example Lewis is Like Senna because

1. He Drives for Mclaren
2. He has a yellow Helmet
3. He's won a world Championship
4. He is good around Monaco
5. He crashed in the same place as Senna in quali

i'm sure i could think of more lol, but do you see my point there are simlarities yes its silly to say its history repating it self exactly or he's just like that.

I didn't say history was repeating itself, just that there were similarities. Also, sub-par car is a sub-par car. The FW20 was disgusting!
