I'm informed Luca Badoer almost scored points in a Minardi, it was such a big achievement that when the car broke down he was crying. Although some will argue that proves the Minardi was insanely quick if Badoer got to a point scoring position in it. :hehe:

Yeah but how many finishers were there in that race?

Indeed back in those days it was common for half the field to not finish the race between mechanical failures and crashes!

Final words from me on Alonso Vs Hamilton for the best driver crown...

Since 2007, Alonso has scored 884pts while Hamilton scored 865pts, so 14 points different across six years, which would indicate they are pretty equal in driving ability as the 2007 season shows!

Now back to the only night race on the F1 calendar!

I'm back to the topic. How about those speculations that say it's going to be rainy. As I read somewhere,in Singapore it doesn't rain at night, which one is correct

Being a very close neighbour of Singapore, yes, it is much less likely for it to rain at night but it does happen.

Hard to argue with facts!

So who will win Singapore? Alonso or Hamilton?

To be honest, I care more about where these two finish in relation to each other. I'm hoping for Lewis in front with at least 2 cars in between them.

Come now... I know what you're really hoping for. Let's say that's where your hopes begin.

Daaaamn son! this thread grew way too fast for me.

I wont go back a read thru all that, because the first post i read on this page starts with the word "irrelevant". So im just gonna take a guess and expect that kinda gives away what's on the previous page........

In Badoer's defence, it was the 1999 European GP and he was ahead of Hakkinen AND Irvine when he retired.

It's miles off topic anyway.

It'll need a Herculean effort to get back to the topic now.

I dare not predict anything at this stage of the season, it could be any one of the top six drivers taking the win or it could be a Sauber, given how well Perez has done this season; all it would take is for a couple of the top drivers to crash and Perez will be there to claim the spoils... assuming he doesn't get taken out by one of F1's crash kids!

But sadly I expect more eyes being on Hamilton's future movements than the race itself... :(

Can't see Sauber getting up to much here, sadly. Unless they pull a strategy ace via one stopping or something. Their car seems more suited to quicker circuits.

My eyes are on Mercedes. Tested a LOT of upgrades at Magny Cours and look set to run them here, plus they were quick at Monaco.

As Foghorn Leghorn would say... That's a joke, I say, that's a joke, son.

That's your problem right there, you seemingly make up words as you read, or maybe just interpret them some odd way because the word irrelevant didn't show up on this page of the thread until you wrote it. Now everything makes sense.

Sauber are the kings of tyre preservation so you never know, probably qualify in 8th to 14th but come up through field through less pitstops to be there in the top six come the end of the race. I think that if Sauber were to win here, it'd be the most popular victory of the year, all these years in the sport without a win, I don't know anyone that dislikes Sauber!
