Reads like yet another article where things are lost in translation and taken out of context... Monty isn't stupid!

My point is; why is he saying things anything like this to the press, he's the president of FIAT not the Ferrari F1 team principle. Nearly all his comments, misquoted or not do nothing for the image of Ferrari in F1. He comes across as very whiny when the rules don't suit his/Ferrari's agenda and this latest comment in the off season has no logic!

I'm not ruling out the possibility of him just talking crap here by any means, but this is exactly my point - where is the logic in him 'slating' Massa?! What does he gain from kicking Massa when he's down? And i know he's not technically Ferrari staff but he's still the big boss, kinda like how Dennis is now positioned at McLaren, and so still has a lot at stake.

No he wasn't, he did well up to about 3/4 gps in.

I think its just an extension of the ridiculous flak Ferrari came in for at the end of the season from all corners, the bleating by the Italian government was ludicrous, remember the term that if you ask 50,000 football fans their opinions you will get 50,000 opinions?? that is said about fans in this country, multiply that by 100 and add in the usual Italian Machismo and the fact that every 'Angelo' in Italy thinks he's an authority on all sporting matters, and hey presto! Lots of crap from lots of clueless windbags!

Massa was below avarage.
They probably told him so in meetings and so on... no need to say it like that to the press. Is it a way of putting pressure on him to perform? or quite likely they weren't happy at how he managed the issue in Germany.........

For me the original statement by LDM was really good. His comments on Massa were accurate. I agreed with his statement about 2010 not being the real Massa. I also agree with Vap about Felipe's 2010 year, he was just holding his own for the first 3-4 races, and after that it really was "his brother" behind the wheel. Personally I liked LDM saying that the team is wishing/wanting the real Massa to be back in 2011.
