I think vettel is a brillaint driver, extremely quick and i quite like him but i often wonder does he have the ability to really overtake any of the top drivers.

Agreed.

He doesn't seem to be that hot on that. Looks to me like he lacks that visual perception of predicting where the other car will be, where your car will be too, and then execute the move. Either that, or he doesn't simply have the balls.

A Bull with no balls? Steer? There has to be a joke there somewhere...

I thoguht this not long ago, i thought that if the front wings have been designed for clean air rather than dirty air behind cars.

Although they say that they just conserve fuel and overtake in pits, this is a pretty silly still. RBR's overtaking only really happens in the pits.

Actually, I think the Red Bull front wing needs to be banned cause when they do go to overtake the aerodynamics seem to go haywire and send them into other cars. Look at Mark in Australia and Sebastian in Turkey. :):)

Like driving past a huge lorry and feel yourself being dragged in.

Which means they are relying on their Qualifying pace to actually win races because they know their drivers are incapable of overtaking.

Don't think thats how it works :p.

Webber i don't think is too bad at overtaking he just doesn't seem confident enough to try.

Vettel as someone else mentioned could just not be able to judge correctly how to overtake other drivers and is why he just doesn't even try now.

Problem is they will all just use the excuse that the current cars have too much downforce blah blah etc but the fact is other drivers can do it without too much problem even on tracks that you apparently cant overtake on so i wonder what the problem is for RBR.

Actually, I think the drivers are spot on here. Hopefully someone can help jog my memory but when have we seen a passing manouevre from any of the front runners that wasn't on the first lap (ala Hammo overtook Webber in Germany) and wasn't due to much grippier tyres (ala Hammo vs Webber in Canada) or wasn't due to wet conditions (ala Australia and the other wet race this year, China? doesn't count even though they were absolute crackers). If no one could overtake into that bloody big hairpin in Germany then there's something wrong with the way these cars are designed because its pretty similar to the one at Magny Cours and you used to see a few overtaking manouevres into that hairpin per race.

Knew I'd seen this somewhere; took me a while to find it.

This describes what appeared to happen at Spa when Vettel moved out of Button's slipstream. One side of the wing flexed violently, possibly upsetting the balance of the car and causing Vettel to lose control.

The ignorance of some people on here is ridiculous!

After the German GP Red Bull Racing had approx 33 overtakes, compared to Mclaren's 37, Mercedes 29 and Ferrari's 58!

Driver breakdowns are available too if anybody is interested.

Wow Ferrari 58!!?? Looks like those 2 Ferraris have switched positions many times this year without us or the FIA noticing.

Well no since they really havnt had to THAT much. They usually qualify pole and then either stick with it or just screw it up. In spa Vettel did a fantastic overtake on Robert Kubica. Not forgetting that on on button...OH WAIT.
