If Ferrari do have fuel consumption issues, then Massa's aggressive driving style is hardly going to help matters...

One thing I've been keen to know over the close season is what the current stance is on engines. We all know Cosworth are allowed to play with theirs until the end of February, but I heard that engine parity for the others had been disallowed.

These fuel consumption worries you've mentioned seem to indicate that this is the case, because Ferrari's engine was one of the thirstiest last year only after the Toy-slow-ta, and about on par with the BMW.

"Massa we need to save fuel let alonso by"

:hehe:

You may laugh but now that you bring it up I could see something like that happening and being the cause or adding to friction within teams, think if Barrichello or Kovi got a message like that last year.

I find this attitude odd, I support ferrari but that doesn't translate into me wishing McLaren crashed and burn.

I don't want Ferrari to Crash and Burn but if there was abit of old fashined Italian Arm waving and shouting i'd find that ammusing.

Ok, I can agree with that :hehe:
You beat me to the punch with your explanation time-wise, thus my previous post

I guess Ferrari can still spend their way out of trouble like McLaren did last season if they have problems! :hehe: Something seems off about that launch car though, it had pretty much the exact same front wing as the one that was on the car that ended last season, and you'd think that they'd found something to improve on.

Here are a few figures to expand on that. Don't know how accurate they are though.

    Mercedes FO108W = 155KG tank running optimal 760HP
    Ferarri 056 = 165kg takn running at optimal 755HP
    Renault RS27 = 140KG tank running at optimal 745HP
    Toyota RVX-09 = 135KG tank running at optimal 738HP
    BMW P86/9 = 158KG tank running at optimal 752HP

I read another figure for the Cossie of about 770hp but 175kg of fuel to get through a race...

If they do end up struggling, id laugh to see how Fernando responds....

I guess like he did when Renault struggled... by getting on with it and grinding out results. :-|

Hopefully that fuel figure has gone down since they've started tuning the engine.

It strikes me, having seen the McLaren, how basic the Ferrari looks. It really appears a lot less advanced than Woking's car, and it's certainly a lot bulkier. The McLaren is like a streamlined torpedo, the Ferrari is bulging by comparison.

Yeah he knew that his time at Renault was a stop gap, he was going to Ferrari eventually so he didnt really care! Now he hasnt got anywhere else to go how will he respond?
