If I were in mosley's position I too would of tried to ban McLAREN after spygate. Max wasn't the greatest but during spygate he was a warrior as he brought justice to Ferrari whom McLAREN committed the crime agaisnt by stealing those documents. Oh well mosley is gone only to replaced by even more convenient than ever Jean Todt.

Oh please Renault did the same thing and nothing happened its Max with his pathetic hate for Ron/Mclaren Ferrari have cheated and no doubt spied in the exact same way and nothing happened.

In a sport like F1 your always going to get espionage i mean its openly defend against with the engineers hiding parts of the car where possible on test days.

And with engineers, Mechanics and drivers switching teams its to be expected.

I would not at all be surprised when Alonso brings over his favourite mechanic's from Renault they bring some info with them, that would get looked into and potentially used in the Ferrari if it would help.

 Its been going on since racing began, some teams noticeabley much more than others(hit a nerve AKR?) It's just that Max chose to play god with who he punished and who he helped.AKR, you think Todt will be even better at this unfair regime? Well lets hope you're wrong. I dont trust Todt but am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until his actions prove otherwise.

Fernando isn't taking any staff with him.

Assuming there is actually anything useful to bring from Renault... which hardly looks like the case.

This is the most unsurprising revelation I have ever heard. But that said, I don't think a 18 month ban would have been an unfair punishment. Spying on fellow teams is wholeheartedly wrong but as mentioned before in this thread it has been going on since the inception of Formula 1, down to drivers checking out competitors cars after the race in Parc Ferme. But if McLaren were banned then Renault would have needed to be banned as well after being found guilty of race fixing. So it's swings and roundabouts really, espionage will never go away, it always has been a part of F1 and always will be, in recent years it has been thrust into the limelight so punishment had to come.

Well, actually, Renault wouldn't have been able to fix that race because they'd have been banned for the same crime as McLaren, as would Toyota (Though earlier)

But nothing ever came of the Renault spying case and I doubt it ever would have regardless of McLaren's punishment so it kinda academic now!

Well so is saying Renault would have been banned for race fixing.

Ultimate it's all ifs and buts... the reason why McLaren got punished and Renault didn't is because of the publicity that the McLaren spygate got from the press. If it wasn't for the media pushing the McLaren case into the spotlight, more than likely nothing would have happened in the McLaren case because no-one would have known about it.

You're serious? :hehe:

Yes I am serious; I really believe that none of this would have happened if it wasn't for the press blowing it out of proportion... once the spygate scandal hit the headlines the FIA had no option but to act. Does anyone seriously believe this is the first time this has happened in F1? Espionage is as much a part of F1 as the racing on the track!

Marilyn Manson? Mickey Mouse? Marilyn Monroe?
