I'm not even comparing Jenson & Hamilton. I'm saying Jenson will put pressure on Hamilton. Similar to Webber putting pressure on Vettel.

Ahh, in that case I still disagree. Somehow I doubt that Hamilton will feel much pressure from Button, I think it's more likely to work the other way round.

I guess we need to get Button signed to McLaren, build a time machine, jump to the end of 2010 to solve our disagreement.

But would you comfortably put 100 bucks on Button not being able to at one race out qualify & out race Hamilton? Because I think Button at Monaco this year would have hammered Hamilton even if Hamilton was in the Brawn. Lewis would have just as Rubens did, wear his tyres away too quickly.

I'm sure that could happen but even Heikki managed to outqualify Hamilton a few times this year, that doesn't automatically equate to pressure. I think Hamilton is far too confident to feel threatened by Button. With Raikkonen it could be a different story but I'm not going to be making any bets on it.

Can't see it happening and I wouldn't want to see it either (although it would be amusing to see Button trying to keep up with Hamilton). McLaren need the best drivers in their cars next year if they're going to stand a chance against Ferrari, Kimi is a far better choice for that imo.

I disagree entirely. Button would apply a lot of pressure on Hamilton if the two were team mates.

You obviously rate his talent more highly than I do. Personally, I don't think Button is anywhere near as good a driver as either Raikkonen or Hamilton.

Yeah, but the difference is, you're wrong

Anywho, as to the topic, it's probably a bargaining tactic, both for Macca with Kimi and Button with Brawn. It's fairly obvious to all concerned Button is more suited to the Brawn team, and would probably be more suited to the Brawn car. We all know the 2010 McLaren will be built around Lewis. Kimi would be fine in such a car, Button needs something different. Button driving a Lewis car would flatter Hamilton, which would lead people to conclude Lewis was better - people often fail to realise F1 is very very complex.

It was an opinion, hence the use of the word personally. Therefore it's neither conclusively right or wrong, it's simply my personal belief that Hamilton and Raikkonen are far more talented than Button.

I'll agree that I also think it's a bargaining tactic. McLaren seem to want Kimi, that's become fairly obvious given the amount of gossip we've been hearing for so long. We had the Heidfeld rumours the other day and now the Button ones, I just wish Kimi would sign already.

if jenson goes to mclaren ahead of a willing kimi I'll go up there and punch him.

Punch Kimi?

I must say Kimi has been class this second half of the season.

wouldn't dare to take on kimi, I have a feeling he'll punch my lights out, that is if he's not somewhere else in t shirt and shorts eating an ice cream.

Jenson seems a lot more wimpy

Noooooooooooooo, I definately don't want Jetson at McLaren, all he bloody does is whinge, whinge, whinge, Too much oversteer, too much understeer, any bloody excuse when he can't drive the car. The only damn reason he won the WDC is because Ross was out of the blocks way before the rest with his car's aero's. Look at the results of the second half of the season when everyone else caught up, how many wins for him?
Kimi anyday, failing that Nico or Sebastian, but no bloody Jetson please
