He's always seemed underrated to me. I'd like to see him land a seat with a major player and watch how it plays out.

He hasn't been terribly quick recently. His party pice as ceased to be speed and become mind-numbingly dull consistency

I thought his party piece was his crazy dancing? :P

What would anyone else do in the F1.09?

I was thinking of the race-winning F1.08

I know better than to pay attention to how drivers do in bad cars.

Absolutely nothing like Kubica seems to have done? At least he's dragged this terrible car to several points and a podium (albeit a slightly lucky one - arguably).

Heidfeld got the podium in the "Bernie wrecked" Malaysian GP.

Kubica put in a good performance at Melbourne when the car was quite good and could have won.

Yup. Half points, gah. I wonder how much of a factor that race will end up being in the title outcome! Hopefully none at all.

Australia seems so long ago, but i seem to remember the safety cars comepletely changed the race after the first tyre stops...

The situation is the same as Räikkönen suffered in the F2008 and Button in the RA108 (I hate saying that car's name >.<) - they all seemed to have issues with the tyres. And look at it this way, he was closer to his team-mate than the other two. The F1 world was saying that Kubica trounced him, but, fifteen points is hardly a trouncing when your car is far better-suited to your team-mate's style than yours. :)

Interestingly, it took Kimi the vast majority of the season to realise that the shark-fin was causing him issues. Surely that's something you'd think to try earlier on? But, I digress...

At the end of the day, he managed to stay out on his dry tyres for as long as possible, on a one-stop strategy, in those conditions.

BMW spent a lot of time messing around trying to get Heidfeld into Q3, and when that worked, Kubica was the one getting eliminated in Q2.

One thing I miss from the start of the season is when teams fell into the trap of gobbling up the super-softs too quickly, BMW and Renault were using KERS and Rubens' Brawn was still mighty quick AND able to overtake despite a damaged front wing and a wrecked diffuser.

The BMW was quite good at the start of the year (in Kubica's hands) and it seems like that never happened now.

Seems like all that overtaking in Melbourne never happened now either! :(:hehe:

they had KERS then, maybe thats the reason....... Eddie?

Exactly, KERS was making a bunch of the cars easy pray for the good cars - who were all running KERS-free.
