Hindsight is a wonderful thing. The point still remains that Williams took a big risk in not accepting BMW's offer and are only afloat at the moment because Ecclestone give them a good handshake. Then Williams and BMW could have laughed at each other's stupidity.

That's how Sir Frank likes to play his game, the team is still alive today and has a competitive car too after these years of struggling since the break-up.

Yip. FIAT have been discussing whether or not to sell Ferrari. However, Di Montezemolo is completely against it and I do wonder whether or not FIAT's board have ultimately the balls to do it.

I can see it when The Man from Del Monty decides to move on.

There is a place for everybody at McLaren. By far the most diverse team in Formula One.

But didn't Han make you promise to wear a McLaren hat? I know Racechick tried to put Ewan in McLaren gear at Silverstone but that never happened... :hehe:

If Renault pulled out its very likely that Flavio would buy the team but Renault have unlike Toyota, BMW & Honda enjoyed alot of success in F1 since 2002. So I am confident that Renault will commit to F1 until 2012.

I also believe that Manufacturers leaving the sport is a good thing; it's all the more ridiculous considering the whole breakaway threat of recent months which would have cost manufacturers more money. Until recent years F1 was about privateers with either factory engine deals or customer engine deals and in my personal opinion I believe F1 was better at that time. Ferrari have always been the exception, the prancing horse have F1 coursing through their veins. Manufacturers have come and gone over the years yet many have hailed manufacturers as the saviours of F1. How long will it be before Toyota and Renault ditch F1? I believe that Mercedes are in it for the long haul as McLaren isn't a 100% manufacturer team! If we go back to mostly privateer teams I will be very happy and probably watch F1 more religiously than I have done in recent years!

That's your prerogative; but I think that's an overreaction; what if the teams that replace the manufacturers are just as good and racing is better. F1 was F1 before manufacturers. Bernie Ecclestone's tireless promotion not because manufacturers joining F1 as fully fledged teams is what made F1 so popular today!

I think they fear the Tifosi response. I know I would.

I dunno, I don't think I'd be too welcome at McLaren... >.>
