Hm, how long until the Unmentionable is brought into the discussion? After all He's as good (or better?) than MS according to Himself :P:rofl:

Oh no, DD - you didn't!! :twisted::whip:

Oh him? I think he's racing in DTM now... :knob::twisted:

On topic, to be fair to MS his titles in '02 and '04 were unmistakably deserved, and outside of Ferrari his '95 title was too... unlike his '94 one, that Benetton had so many dodgy illegal parts, not to mention the fuel pump (which got exposed anyway).

Go look up Ferrari's influence in the banning of the Michelin tyre in 03 as a good place to start Bill.

Protesting an illegal component != using a veto to manipulate regulations to a team's benefit.

No one mentioning that this Veto was signed in 2005 then.

So Schumacher never won a title under the Veto, if I'm correct.

First of all, the sudden 'honesty' displayed by FIA / FOM about Ferrari benefits have come at times of disagreement. To me, all these issues were clearly understood and must have been accepted as fair by other teams, who like Bill says were spending bankloads of money... but in an effort to diminish the Ferrari name in the current climate, the FIA is actually hurting both Ferrari and the sport. If they 'knew' Ferrari had an unfair competitive advantage why did they do nothing about it? and if they didnt know... then it proves their incompetence to govern a serious sport.

Honestly, such dominance during the Schumacher yrs is difficult to believe, but again there's not much of a case except for some shady examples that could have actually worked either way... its the same with the current Brawn car, if Brawn goes on to win basically all races then i'm sure someone sometime is going to come up with some information explaining the illegality of Brawn's diffuser and whatever privileges they may have been given.

:drink:

Schumacher was very good, maybe the best ever. But i dont think he alone was as good (or as better than the rest) as his numbers indicate.

I've read otherwise
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/n ... 5542.shtml

I read that the deal was signed during the threat of a breakaway series. Oh, but there's another deal, during 1998. Ah. I'm guessing the Veto, was probably during the 98 deal then. Thought I was missing something here :hehe: politics not my thing.

yeah its hard to pinpoint these things when its hard to get hold of the facts! But regardless of what and when these deals were signed, its clear Ferrari and the FIA had a close relationship this last decade up until this point.

Only in my bedroom. Although if I keep being tossed around by the school/LEA, I might go and study it at university. :)

All I know is I think MS was a great driver regardless of all the underlying political mumbo jumbo, shaking extended hand of friendship :wink: .
