It's ridiculous how seeing one driver win the first 3 of 4 races hasn't pointed out the glaring flaw in this system to them.:banghead:

It also shows that, in a season where one driver, car and team combination are as good as the Button-BGP 001-Brawn are this year, that even FOTA's system would be flawed.

They're forgetting why the system was ever brought in. It was to stop schumacher romping away with the title. Its that idea of close racing that gave us the finale at Brazil last year, a day in racing that will surely never be forgotten for pure heart stopping action. But with the stupid system, the title would've been decided basically on Saturday and we'd have never seen that almighty showdown.

The winner takes all system just doesn't work. There's a damn good reason why no other motorsport uses it.

Winner takes all makes a mockery of the history of Formula One, and the concept of close racing.

The teams must stay together! You know what, Im not sure if Brawn will. Hope he does!

I'm not sure what you mean? By far the most likely rebels are the manufacturers.

I think the manufacturers more than anyone want to wrest power from the FIA and i think the FIA(Max) will do anything to stop it. Its all about power for max. First it was the diffuser arguement-that could esily have been sorted out long before it got to the state it did. Now its capping. If Max can entice teams to accept capping he will isolate the manufacturers. At the moment Brawn probably stands most to gain from capping. Max has a couple of years to split the teams up and prevent a unified stand against him . I doubt he would stop at anything to prevent that stand.

No. No they wouldn't. Would they?

You sure it's not just, if the drivers are tied at the end of the season, then driver with most wins out of the two will take it? Perhaps it's just a typo.

Oh, please be a typo!!!! :(

God I hate the FIA.

If that ever actually happens, I'm just going to count the points the old way, and then I'm going to crown my own world champion (:

You're cute. :)

But there is no way that this would happen. Unless Formula One is committing suicide. I don't want a break away series to start because this is the sport where Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Jackie Stewart, Fangio.... This is where they all came from. This.

I just kind of feel that if there was a break away, they're also breaking away from those names. :(

I definitely hope that it won't happen (:
It would ruin the sport.

A team with 17 podiums but no wins (toyota) is beaten by a team with one win and 16 DNF's (Ferarri). A championship by its very nature is the choosing of a team who has done the best throughout the season.....points are a natural way to determine that. This hogwash will not fly....

I thought the 'winner takes all' scheme was only for the drivers' championship.
