I'm thinking that, too. Newey's car was the fastest (though not most reliable) when the last set of major changes came about in 1998. I would not be surprised if the same thing happened this year. We've already seen some impressive speed from it, as well as the gearbox causing some problems
As for Renault, that chunky nose could pay off if they've spotted something that the other teams haven't. I can't say I'm expecting it to go, however it could indeed be a ploy, seeing as there are at least two images on the Renault site showing the car with a regular-style front wing. One of them is here: http://www.ing-renaultf1.com/en/_2009/t ... interview/
So who knows?
Edit: Seeing as I didn't think it worth making a thread about, here are the Bahrain testing times.
Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Glock Toyota (B) 1:33.501 82
2. Massa Ferrari (B) 1:33.615 98
3. Kubica BMW-Sauber (B) 1:33.702 95
They're all looking good. Nice to see that Glock is leading at the moment

The Red Bull was fastest first time out. Now thats promising no matter what way you look at it.
On the other hand, I'm thinking Renault may have gotten things completely wrong this year. Aside from the car looking awful, they look slow as well. Either that, or Piquet is gonna be worse than last year.
