I dont mind Sato, i quite like him actually.

Anybody Know whats happened to Anthony Davidson? Is he still testing at Honda or have they got rid?

Unfortunately, he seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. Which is a shame, because he's very talented.

He was alright but he didn't really best sato enough to suggest he would have a chance at getting a seat.

A season plus four races as opposed to the five seasons plus four races of Sato is something to keep in mind, and he would not have been so out-scored by Sato had he not hit the groundhog in Canada. I think he did quite well and, had he not been in such a bad car, would probably have been far more impressive. He has several better qualities than Sato to begin with, the main one of these being his speed and consistency as opposed to the rather fast but erratic nature of Sato.

True, and if Super Aguri had remained he may of been able to do have the odd decent result but hes been in the honda a few times as a test driver and you don't see him getting tests anywhere else.

I'd like to see him i F1 and i believe he deserves a chance again but i doubt we'll see him there's more chance of Sato getting a driver because he's around the same level as Davidson but he opens up the market to Japanese sponsorship.

Honda screwed Davidson's career when they blocked him from going to Williams for 2005 just as much the same way they did with Button. No doubt Nick Fry stuck his ugly nose in it again.

BAR block Davidson's Williams switch

Last Updated: 11:41PM GMT 24 Nov 2004

Anthony Davidson's hopes of driving for Williams next year have ended after BAR refused to release him from his long-term contract.

BAR had been willing to release Davidson for a year before a possible return in 2006, but Williams refused to have any conditions tied to the contract.

Williams need a driver to partner Mark Webber next season and had eyed Davidson as a candidate before they hope to sign Jenson Button, also from BAR, for 2006.

But Geoff Willis, the BAR technical director, said Williams' request to have an open-ended arrangement whereby Davidson would not return on a particular date was "untenable".

"Anthony is one of the team's prime assets and we have him under long-term contract," Willis said.

"It is for this reason that a great deal has been invested in him over the years and whilst we are enormously keen for him to gain F1 race experience and further his career, we clearly cannot compromise the future of BAR."

Davidson will now spend next season testing for BAR unless he can agree a temporary move to Red Bull Racing.

Davidson had been due to test for Williams on Dec 1, but BAR's announcement leaves Antonio Pizzonia, Nick Heidfeld and David Coulthard chasing the vacant seat.

Because it transpired that he couldn't even beat Sato convincingly? :hehe:

Has there ever been a man as arrogant in Formula One with so little achieved to even back it up? Apart from Ralf Schumacher, of course.

From F1 Live:

Takuma Sato later this month will test for Toro Rosso for the second time.

Following the former Grand Prix driver's maiden outing with the Faenza-based team at Jerez earlier this year, the Japanese has now been confirmed for the Barcelona test in mid November.

It is believed that Bruno Senna, to already be at the Spanish venue for his Honda run, will also be in action for the Ferrari-powered team, as will fellow 2009 race seat contender Sebastien Buemi.

Rubens Barrichello has also been linked with the partly Red Bull-owned team for 2009.

The news of 31-year-old Sato's test was not confirmed by Toro Rosso, but by the veteran’s management on Friday.

"We are extremely happy to announce that Takuma will be testing for Toro Rosso in Barcelona on 17-18 November," a brief statement read.

The statement added that Toro Rosso is "yet to decide (its) driver line up for the 2009 season."

Sato debuted in 2002 with Jordan, and subsequently raced for BAR and Super Aguri before the latter team folded after this year's Spanish Grand Prix.
