I don't think it matters what colour of Hamilton's skin is all that's important is that he won the world championship in his second season and smashed loads of world records along the way.

Who cares? I didn't even think about what colour his skin was until the people on the television and newspapers started going on about it.

When Tiger woods first came on the Golf scene there was a lot of talk about him being so great and a man of color,
now it's never even mentioned. I would imagine in a couple of years it won't be mentioned with Hamilton either.
The world will warm up to it and only see what a fantastic driver he is.

I keep seeing it written in the papers and on the web that Lewis Hamilton is 'the first black Formula One Champion'...

Is he? Yes, his Father is black... but his mother is white... making him 'mixed race' surely?

Is he any more 'black' than 'white'?

BTW... replace 'Lewis Hamilton' with 'Barack Obama' and the same question applies...
