In my view, all that is reasonably possible should be done to stamp the importance of mechanical grip in Formula One. The cars should be made 2.2 meters wide, as they were in the 1980s. Rear-wing endplates should be cut in size and limits need to placed on the design of the rear-wing itself. The decks should either be made more simple or one deck only should be allowed.
Another thing that needs to be looked as is engine development. Although more power can be squeezed out of the current engines, the engineers know how to do it, so we are learning nothing. Turbochargers should be reintroduced, engine capacity should be cut to 1.5 liters and fuel should be limited. That way, Formula One cars would be more difficult to drive, still be very fast, be innovative and be relevant to roads. The FIA got it completely wrong with the engine freeze.
