Fantastic about Brundle! Not so Coulthard :( He is too opinionated and holds grudges againat racers who bettered him (That gives him quite a lot of scope :rofl::rofl: ) I think he's too close to finishing racing himself and will be unable to mask his dislike/jealousy of certain drivers.
But hes in, so we'll see how it goes, maybe my opinion of him will soften, doubt it though, I have a long memory!

Well I guess Coulthard should be grateful that Montoya's not in F1 anymore. :P

Absolutely! he would be unable to keep it buttoned and he'd show himself up by being girlie bitchy :hehe:

Girlie bitchy vs. man titties - ooh how I'd love to see that one :whip:
And after each race they'd kiss and make up during a queen pageant wearing the most outrageous costumes

Jake is a good presenter but does he know anything about F1? Shouldn't they try to get a presenter who is knowledgeable about the sport even if s/he is a complete novice?

Yup, they're good. Beats German, Swiss and Austrian coverage (from my own experience).

Your right Burt and from what I gather/believe is that SPEED TV has the best F1 coverage. I, aswell as you , have watched Bob since he started his F1 career and he is very very informed without arrogance.

From Planet F1:

'Jordan to join BBC commentary team'
Friday 24th October 2008

Eddie Jordan will reportedly join David Coulthard and Martin Brundle as part of the BBC's 2009 F1 commentary team.

Next season the BBC will be taking over the F1 rights from ITV with former team boss Eddie Jordan the latest name to be added to the list of possible commentators.

According to the Daily Express, the Irishman 'looks to be the surprise new name on the podium the BBC have put together for their F1 coverage.'

Jordan, though, has refused to comment on the rumours while the BBC have once again repeated that no decisions have yet been made.

"We have not confirmed our line-up yet," a BBC spokesman said.

You lucky Brits, I love Eddie Jordan. But then again I love our team, so I'm not going to complain about anything.

I remember Varsha from the good ol days in CART. Although I really liked Varsha commentating for CART (my 2nd fav for F1, behind Matchett), I honestly believe Paul Page was the best CART commentator. I wish I was around in the 80s when Jackie Stewart used to commentate.

From Forumula1.com:

Brundle joins the BBC

Formula One pundit Martin Brundle has confirmed that he will join the BBC’s commentary team next year when Formula One returns to the British broadcaster from ITV.

The ex-Formula One driver turned ITV commentator – whose insightful commentary has won him an unprecedented six Royal Television Society awards not to mention the respect of an army of fans – told delegates at the 2008 Autocar Awards in London tonight that he would take up the BBC’s offer to join their team, though he admitted that he had considered retirement.

“I’m delighted to be able to tell you that I’ll be joining the BBC next year,” he said on the stage at London’s Horticultural Hall.

“I’ve been commentating on Formula One for the past dozen years, and I briefly considered calling it a day, but in the end I decided to take up the BBC’s offer and I’m now very excited about working for them next year.”

The BBC reclaimed the rights to broadcast Formula One on a five-year contract earlier in the year.

So, it's official. 8-)
