His constant gloating doesn't help decisions go his way.

So you think Hamilton's gloating effects the decisions the officials make. If there is any truth in that what-so-ever then I am even more shocked at the lack of profesionalism in the current stewarding system.

Hamilton's move on Vettel (if I remember rightly) looked good to me as well.

Personally, I disagree with that. If he had slowed to go through the chicane, he wouldn't have been able to take Vettel at that point. He probably would have taken him on the next corner anyway, but he couldn't have made that pass stick if he hadn't skipped the corner. He would have either had to follow Vettel through, or else crash. Unlike Spa, where he did everything by the book, he wasn't forced off-track and could have slowed so as to take it normally.

I do agree with everything else in your post, though. The blocking penalties at the start of the season, Kovy's drive-through etc. were all penalties that they did bring on themselves (and, crucially, accepted gracefully). But there have been some that have been either excessive for the situation, or else just unjustifiable, and I think Spa should be the last straw.

Of course his gloating will affect decisions. At the end of the day McLaren have got to be clever enough to realise that stewards are massive fans of the sport. And I'm not saying that they delibrately go out of their way to f**k Lewis and McLaren over BUT all the trash that comes out of their mouths cannot help at all. At the start of the Spa weekend, for example, he made a couple of sly (blatent actually) comments about the pace of the Ferrari when Massa said he raced the perfect lap. He didn't take into consideration what actually occured - he was lighter on fuel than Massa was. Even if he is thinking this trash it shouldn't really be coming out of his mouth.

If you look at tennis and golf Federer and woods are his oppisite - they are modest. That is why everyone wants them to win grandslams and opens despite the fact that both of these sportsman are the most successful men in their respective sports. It wouldn't help them if everyone was on their backs.

Again I'm sorry to those I haven't replied too - I will soon.

To be honest, one thing McLaren cannot be accused of is not accepting the stewards' decisions with grace. I can't access past news reports from, say, autosport.com, but there are numerous articles on Ron Dennis, Martin Whitmarsh, Norbert Haug and the odd one with Jonathan Neale saying that the respect the stewards' decisions - however bad some of them were - that there was no conspiracy against McLaren and that the team wishes to concentrate on its racing. This is the first time in a very long time that McLaren has appealed a stewards' decision and that Hamilton has opened his gob about them.

It only takes the odd comment to let people know what they are really thinking. Things such as "level playing field" and "we're used to it". The official statements may be consumed as is by the public, but those working in F1 are going to pick up on these comments, as well as many private conversations that we are not party to nor hear reported. It's clear that McLaren don't like the FIA and the FIA does not like McLaren.

Ferrari are the only ones who like the FIA

If Jean Todt is the successor in waiting, then perhaps in some way shape and form it will be Ferrari who sorts out the problems.

[Though I should point out that I presume that Todt would resign fully from Ferrari if he took over the FIA top job]

Besides, I thought it was a fashionable conspiracy theory that Renault were FIA stooges too.

if Todt becomes FIA president we should all run to the hills! :yikes:

he is Ferrari for life and only cares for Ferrari and its interestes! even if he resigned that would not change!

Would you admit to it if you were wrong? Or would you invent lots of conspiracies despite evidence or lack of evidence?

would you admit if you were wrong or would you stick your head in the sand and accept all the accolades Ferrari takes in because of fringe benefits??
:irked:

Yes, if there was sufficient evidence. There is a big difference between bleating and evidence.

As have many Ferrari fans, I admit that there is something wrong with the Hamilton penalty. But that by no means supports a pro-Ferrari conspiracy.
