Ferrari launched no appeal. It was the race director who launched the appeal.
Apparently the same man who told McLaren the move was legit during the race. Back-stabber much.

Investigation, Mclaren have applied for appeal although I've just read that it's unclear whether or not it's possible to appeal against a drive through penalty. Still, what you bring up about the race director is something i've been thinking is very strange.

The racing in F1 has been getting better, but the contoversy gets ever worse. It was a clear racing incident. Apart from the above speculation on the dislike and penalties imposed on Mclaren, Forgive me but; maybe the pompous cretins in the FIA don't want a black man to win a world championship. Last year in Brazil the car died temporarily for the loss, maybe caused by a directional EMP (electro magnetic pulse) aimed at his car. lmao! Forgive me for instigating this conspiracy, just adding spice to the broth!!!

But seriously, what a frikking joke!

I'm not even a Mclaren fan or Ferrari fan. But it seems to me that if any other team wins a race especially Mclaren then Ferrari launches appeal. Lewis shouldn't have been penalized for the move he done on Kimi, because followed the rules to the letter. He let Kimi back in front. The rule says that driver grains advantage from cutting a corner he must let the other driver to regain the lead, but does it say the driver at took the advantage to slow down to a gap of x mount of seconds. I watched the race and to be honest the race was boring until the rain started to fall, and the last four laps of the race was the best in a long time. All Lewis done was to out think his rival and which is raw talent in any other job you would have been reward for this not penalized for thinking outside the box.
The F in F1 SHOULD BE RENAMED FERRARI1 NOT FORMULA1 :banghead:

According to various reports, Ferrari did not lodge any protest, but spoke their side of the events when called to the stewards' room. That said, Domenicali seems to have accepted the result and claimed it to be important to the team.

Yeah they didn't make an appeal because there wasn't one to make. Then when gifted the win on a plate (but certainly not a silver plate, a blood red plate) they refuse to comment on the incident, because all they could have possibly said was: "Bfffhhaahahahaha".

I mean come on! I am one who is always shouting at the conspiracy theorist, but they might have a point on this one.
I mean Hamilton got pushed out, gained an advantage, gave up that advantage, then overtook Kimi. For crying out loud
he closed a 6sec gap to get on Kimi's gearbox.
Stewards screwed big time and made an bottom of themselves.
I agree big time with f1nutter26. FIA have it in against Mclaren: conspiracy is making more and more sense by the second.
And yeah they might one change Formula one to Ferrari one.

I voted as you might expect. The decision was disgusting. You know what really saddens me is that i was hoping against hope that this ferrari FIA crap had stopped. What a fool I was!

I voted No. I think Lewis did not gain an advantage by cutting the last corner. He was right behind Kimi before the chicane and he was right behind him later on the straight after he gave back first position. Kimi was then overtaken fair and square, this time from the inside though.
This here is an example of how F1 rules are not defined clearly and can be interpreted in different ways. Lewis had gained an advantage and then immediately gave it back by allowing Kimi to pass. I don't know what the stewards mean by advantage. They would have to measure the gap before the chicane and then check if Lewis gave Kimi at least as big gap as he'd had before. But this is just ridiculous. :banghead:

The only advantage Lewis took was over Kimi screwing up his own approach to La Source. This should be dropped without even going to appeal.

Unbelievable. Ferrari again benefit from a dubious decision handed down 2 1/2 hours after the race finished. Hamilton cut the chicane ok but he gave the place back to Raikonnen before they crossed the start finish line. After that Raikonnen was fair game and he didn't pass him until Raikonnen went deep into La Source.

Hamilton drove a stormer catching Raikonnen in the last stint and clearly had the better car at the end of the race. He was also the better driver by far, handling conditions which forced the current world champion off the circuit.

The FIA have had it in for Mclaren for years and now they've proved how biased they are towards the Itallian team. What's the point of racing if you're just going to have a deserved victory taken away from you by the Authorities. Make the decision immediately and make the penalty stick. Even if it was a drive through he'd still have won it in the pit lane.

I love F1 but if these idiots are going to ruin the best last few laps of a grand prix for years then I may just need to go and find another series to watch.

He wouldn't have gotten a drive-through, though, because it was within a couple of laps of the race finish. So if he had been penalised there and then, it still would have been a twenty five second penalty, which would have made little difference. And it would still have been unjust. :/

you didnt see schumi win in the UK in 98 taking his drive though on the last lap crossing the finish line in the pitlane

Charlie Whiting said it was a good move, therefore legal they way I look at it. If this is not resolved in favor of McLaren, Lewis should sit the next race out in protest and let Pedro drive. I would only want him to do that if he had a bigger point lead, but lead, but enough is enough. I would suggest he switch to NASCAR, but it may be worse for a black man there.

Right now I am furious and I can't seem to think rationally about McLaren and Lewis' situation. Frankly I feel defeated. If it come to him losing the championship by a few points then I will know what it all about.
