Ron wouldn't consider stepping down until his organisation was in reasonable shape and ending his reign at the very top with the championships. McLaren are not in that position, so he will continue.
Discuss the sport you love with other motorsport fans
have you read McLarens letter at all mate? because if you did no where do they confess to cheating all they confess is their own investiation wasnt as thorough as the FIAs and that it was sorry the situation was grander than they first thought.
I couldn't agree with you more 8 ball. The title of this topic is "Ron's going nowwhere".Has everyone gone barking mad.Dennis is lucky he's not going to jail for theft never mind being allowed to participate at a high level in our beloved sport again. There is such a thing called "ETHICS" in sport and the revelation this week that the Ferrari data "spread" within parts of the McLaren team(which goody two shoes Hamilton denied all knowledge of) is disgusting.Would loyal McLaren fans now accept Hamilton being world champ in a car with Ferrari components found on it.If I was Ron Dennis I would be leaving the house with a balaclava on as I would be that embarrased to show my face.Surely any self-respecting F1 fan can't honestly be thinking about cheering this treacherous lot on for 2008.God help us all if that's the case
Uh, NO! First of all, there was the non-conclusion of the December meeting hinting at the fact that the FIA had found something on the McLaren car. Then, in the letter, RD/McLaren offer to stop development in three key areas - most likely the ones that the FIA had singled out during the December meeting. This is tantamount to a confession of guilt. They're trying to save their arses by this apology and peace offering and the FIA gladly accepted it to put this sorry saga to an end without having to kick out McLaren. FIA biased towards Ferrari? I think not!

Again darwin youre referring to the FIA and what they interpret. Theres alot of grey area's in there and heirsay and "he saw the document as if he wouldnt have used it" going on in the FIA's findings i doubt it would even hold up in a court of law the evidence they have.
its a peace offering correct but i am on the thinking that the FIA informed McLaren to do this letter so publicly can move on, we still have to wait for the WMSC to give the ok to Max's request of dropping the investigation
FIA bias towards Ferrari? well if McLaren werent winning races in this scenario would the FIA and Ferrari be acting so ruthlessly against McLaren? NO and that would suggest heavy handed treatment.
Consitency is the key, if the governing body was consitant in their handling of affairs and on track issues there would be less talk of corruption and favouring.
oh and to mark hughes............. nothing.
