jenson may get it my A**

thats right all drivers are the same it's the cars that win championships then is it.

us english are too easily pleased I think. just like the footballers

over hyped. and over paid. jenson is a middle of the road performer plain and simple IMO

Lewis and perhaps Johnny wilkinson are the only englishmen that I can think of right now as I type that are what I consider top of their game in the sports world.

Alonos won 2 championships with renault which was hardly the best f1 car on the circuit during that time. sorry folks I just plain disagree that jenson is top draw but the patriot in me would love me to be wrong.

I hope he does not let the $$$ sign's cloud his judgement too which team he drive's for such as Ralph did with Toyota and vice versa.

Indeed, Lewis signing to drive Toyota would be like moving from Manchester United - when you're a first team player, fan favourite etc - to Middlesbrough.

Johnny Wilkinson top of his game? All he does is kick the ball and get injured every other game! And if you don't include James Toseland as one of the best in the sports world at what he does then what do you know?!

People who actually know what they're talking about and looked at his telemetry have said on many occasions this last season that Jenson is without doubt one of the best drivers in F1 and if he had the car he'd be challenging - and they weren't all English.

Say if all of this happens, I'd hate to see Anthony Davidson being punted from Super Aguri to make way for Rubens.

well my telementary say that england won sweet fa without wilkinson when he was injured.

and jemson hasn't won anything really even when he did have a good car.

so I guess I know more than your red 5.

your beleieveing comments etc etc of telementary details. Lots of drivers can be smooth but it's being quick and winning that matters. 15 years from now they will say yeah

alonso youngest driver to win championship

Hamilton rookie who showed them all what he was made of

Not Button had great telementary detials around a track.

take the union jack glasses off and recognise there is a difference in class between alonso and button.

I'm English but I'm not stupid enough to believe that load your spouting

if this went to a vote a wonder just how many would hand on heart put button ahead of alonso as a driver. not many I would guess

I never said that Button was in the same class as Alonso, but I will now just because in my own opinion he is just as good, if not better. Button has only ever had two remotely good cars in F1 (2002 Renault and 2004 Honda) and did as good a job as he could behind the wheel of them both. Apart from his first two years in F1 he has outscored and out raced all of his team mates.

Being quick and winning does matter, but being consistently quick and smooth (in the right car, that Button has yet to race because of his shortsightedness in signing for Honda for too long) contributes to winning. Do you really think that Alonso would have two WDC Titles if Flavio Briatore hadn't have chosen to retain Jarno Trulli at Renault - getting rid of the faster and more consistent Jenson Button?

This season is the first time Alonso has been in a fast car with a fast team mate in a team that wasn't built around him by his then manager, he couldn't deal with it and his consistency faltered as a result. That - for me - would make Button a better bet if I was a team owner, not the fact that he's English.

The following goes for every f1 driver. They can only go as fast as there car. The only way to see a good driver is if they push there car to the limits an beat there team mate. And button has shown he can be faster then his team mate since 2002. So instead always looking at the drivers look at the team an see whos better.
Just to let you no not all cars are the same, thats why gp2 an others are really good course cars are equal, but sadly all cars arent equal but makes it intersting.
