I suppose with a grid made up of 22 drivers of that calibre we'd never be in for a dull race. That last 60% of the race might be a bit quiet though when we have only 2 drivers left, both going round with 3 wheels.

Mines is unquestionable
1. Schumacer - he may not of been the fastest but in his era he was stronger in each individual aspect than most of the field, say around 2 people in the field were better at speed, or overtaking but inevitbably by f1 stnadard's a lot of other things would be poor or medicocre - schmacer was far and a way the best all round driver. Great at overtaking, not the greatest but very good. Very fast not the fastest but very fast. mabye the best at set up. Strongestmental strength. An abilty to be lucky!
2. Fangio - history books tell me so
3. Stewart -three world titles
4. HEINZ HARALD FRENTZEN- quicker than schmacer, not just the complete package thought!
5. Nick Heidfeld - SIMILAR CARRER TO FRENTZEN, CAME FROM THE SAME TOWN,VERY FAST AND GOOD ALL ROUND. WEAKANESS? CANT REALLY TELL! UNLUCK DRIVER IN THE WET THOUGH, EVENTHOUGH HE IS SOLID IN TERMS OFWET WEATHER PACE!
----------------------------------------------------------
6. Alesi fast but broke his car
7. senna -very good in qauli so the record books say
8. Prost - sennas eqaul

Ocassionally Schumacher made the odd error when the pressure was on. I would like to add something about Prost being Senna's equal. I don't think Prost was quite as fast - but not a lot behind - however, he looked after his cars very with his smooth, cerebral driving style. However they kind of canceled out one another. Where Prost loses out is in qualifying performances and, more particularly, in his wet-weather driving. It was very poor. If he improved his qualifying performances only slightly and improved his wet-weather skills, he then could considered Senna's equal.

To be honest Darkside i reckon Schumi was the fastest driver in his era due to him being in the fastest car. I wouldnt rate Heidfeld and Fretzen higher than Senna & Prost

All of the drivers considered the best made their names driving against team mates in the same car - except one!

Senna was the best.

Good quote from Jackie Stewart's autobiography:

"People have always debated who is the greatest racing driver of all time. In my view, all any driver can be is the best of his era, and Fangio was certainly that"

Damn... i just can´t believe that anyone would put Schumacher as one of the greatest. As simply put, on his career, after all, his championchips were actually more than controversial at my point of wiev.
He was A lot like alonso, and he retired when Kimi came to team.
