Take that one step further, is it dominance by Mercedes or a lack of competitiveness from the usual suspects? Red Bull has a competitive chassis and lacking engine, Ferrari are lacking a bit of both but McLaren are indeed struggling if they can't make the most results out of that engine. Their chassis has to be pretty bad given the results, or like Lewis said last weekend, there's no room for going down the wrong road.

Which is why Alonso shouldn't go to McLaren!

I wouldn't like that to be true. McLaren are a big part of the fabric of F1, same as Williams. I truly believe they can recover. Personally I'd rather see investment from F1 in sustaining a structure where the likes of McLaren and Williams can again prosper. As opposed to chasing new teams like some that have come and gone recently. (I don't want to mention HRT by name)

I'm sure on the smelly side, not sure I'd agree with you on it being sweet? Perhaps we should ask DD :D

I wouldn't be surprised to see Grosjean at McLaren.

That could be quite a decent move.

He's developed into a very good driver in my opinion, and he's starting to drag that difficult Lotus into decent positions while Maldonado is playing demolition Derby. If McLaren and Honda put together a decent car, I think he'd use it to very good effect. And his manager of course is Boulier.

He has a talent of speed. He is a gifted fast driver. Lewis-like I would say. But I so believe McLaren need experience to carry on. They do need button.

Buttons experience didn't help in 2012 or 2013 and it doesn't seem to be helping in 2014 , why would it help in 2015?

He has been leading Kev home mostly this year. Think how highly rated Kev is/was at the start of the year

Talk about a knee-jerk reaction with Kev. For starters, he'd have to buck the historical trend of not being as good as your dad (or uncle). Perhaps a slightly easier task for him than most though. Button's hanging on in the vain hope of Honda pulling an anti-Honda and taking a dog of a team and making it competitive.

RC, I see what you see in a Grosean to McLaren move. I think he is maturing before our very eyes and given a good car, he is quick. The problem I see is that McLaren has a penchant for wanting at least one "name" driver…a World Champion or some such, because they seem to play that card quite a bit with their sponsor acquisition and they lean very hard on McLaren heritage and tradition. Grosean doesn't offer that but I think he offers them more than they have now. I can't/won't say much about Kevin yet since he's so new to the circus and IMO only flattered in Australia. But Button has passed his sell-by date, unable to do anything with a bad car and clearly hasn't been able to influence the direction of the car based on what he needs. All of the top drivers are doing that and you can clearly see the impact of their input. I for one would love to see a little shake up at McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari. Everyone seems a little too comfortable and business as usual. The paddock having sat back and watched Mercedes shift & shuffle into a beast of a team in just a short 18 months, maybe a Newey switch is on the cards for the start of a shift in improvement that the other teams need/want.

Such fun!

His podium in Australia already means he is better than his dad, who NEVER made an F1 podium!
