Just for the record i think CH was right to issue the team order. The conditions were far from perfect, had they collided and gone off people would of said why didn't they issue orders.
That late in a GP you are thinking of the points

As Andrew says team orders are part and parcel of F1; personally I don't like them but I don't run the sport so I don't get a say in the matter. Do I feel cheated; not at all... as said Mark ignored the order and went racing anyway although I think he backed off a little in the final half lap. I have no issue with #1 and #2 drivers in a team or indeed team orders now they are legal but I wish that team principles would be honest and say that X driver is #1 and X driver is #2 instead of insulting race fans intelligence by coming out with BS excuses!

Because if Vettel is this superfast droid that his fans claim him to be he surely doesn't need his team to tell poor old Webber to hold station, does he? And it makes us wonder "what if" he was teammate with Alonso or Hamilton.

Alonso and Hamilton have both benefited from team orders.

True that!

Team orders? Nothing new. This one wasn't even near the ones in the past. And, yet again, Webber didn't comply. Guess who's leaving Red Bull next year!

I don't know if he is definately leaving but he is making the decision easier for Red Bull. Who would replace him though? Red bulls long term plan is to have Ricciardo after a stint at Torro Rosso to learn the ropes. Maybe this is why he is at HRT now? Interesting to see how this pans out.

Kobayashi is maybe in the game. Or Alguersuari. That kid is getting better and better.

Why not Turkey?

I think there were quite a few team orders on the go at McLaren when Alonso was there and also when Kovalainen was at McLaren. Team orders are not the sole reserve for Red Bull and were not invented for Vettel. They have been around since year dot!

I knew you had nothing, and spare me the history. McLaren/Alonso/Lewis lost a WDC because they DID NOT implement t/o. And I'd rather not start a 2007 debate again.

I don't have to provide anything! It is a fact that all teams use team orders and all top drivers have benefited from them. Everyone knows this!

Yes I know :wavey: That's why I NEVER bought the Schumacher hype and NEVER will the Vettel hype. Rocket cars/weak teammates and even when the teammate has the upper hand he's ordered to stand down. MEDIOCRE

To call any F1 driver mediocre is not right. They wouldn't be in an F1 car if they were mediocre.

I think its a sign of great confidence from the team, that they feel comfortable enough backing one driver.

Couldn't agree more. Back the wrong driver and nt only does the team management look biased, they look incompetant.

Be careful what you wish for... you may get a fast driver in Webber's place.

More worryingly, one who can overtake.

Vettel was double exposed today.
First his ability to overtake which has been suspect all along and how a lot of fans have said he NEVER wins unless he's at the front.
And second the team not trusting him to have a clean fight with Webber, thus the "MAINTAIN THE GAP" message.

Is there any possibility that Vettel will win this year's WDC by less than 3 points? It was a complete lack of trust. But at least it's completely within the rules!
