How often do we have the good fortune to see drivers really ON IT these days.

Not enough as demonstrated by McLaren in Monte Carlo

darwin please you cant be serious  youre one of schumi the greats biggest fans! abit hypocritical of you!

and its Monaco of all places makes your reactions even more stupid!

It is standard procedure for a team to tell its drivers to slow down when they have a substantial lead. This is in order to minimise the risk of technical or other problems. It is also standard practice and entirely reasonable to ask the drivers not to put each other at risk.

McLaren were able to pursue an optimum team strategy because they had a substantial advantage over all other cars. They did nothing which could be described as interfering with the race result.’

Glad he's happy, he always seemed slightly out of sorts in F1. I think I might finally have a reason to watch a NASCAR race

Yea Montoya was definitely a disappointment at McLaren. He depends on others belief for success and when that wained from his constant bottom kicking by the Kimster, he could not handle it. It was'nt Ron or Mclaren it was lhis ack of success that soured him. Alonso is kind of like that as well. He needs others to believe in him to be ultimately successful. Time will tell whether he can deal with the split loyalties of the team cause both these guys can drive! Ironically, Senna did not need this! :lol:8) And I do not think LH needs it either! 8)

Ron is a winner so it seems to me you are 'living a dream' putting your future with him. He is a head-tweak though.

Finally, living here in the U.S. NASCAR is NOTHING LIKE FORMULA ONE!:lol: I watch it occasionally. Its in HD so its good watching on a big screen. (take a hint F1!) I generally see Juan going backwards :( He qualifies well and then starts losing positions. Imagine trusting the guy beside you to avoid crashing into you. In NASCAR its all about crashing and restarts with some racing in between just to add dramatic breaks. Juan has grown up developing this finely tuned driving skill that involves so many different elements. None of which he can use in NASCAR! Its a shame really. :(

miss having him in F1, was an absolute character!

Like him or not, he made F1 very entertaining and worth watching, especially when his car is anywhere near a guy named Micheal. With a exception to a few drivers out there, most need to be in a package that is best suited to their driving style. Ruben, Kimi, Alonso, Ralf, etc.. they are having a difficult time adapting to their new cars and tires, and this is what happened to JPM @ McLaren. He proved that he can drive the Williams, outshined his team mates, and pushing it to the limits. Unfortunately, the McLaren wasn't the car for him. Now that he's got his sponsors and money coming in from Nascar, the last thing he wants to do is to uproot his family from Miami to Europe again, best of luck to him.

BMW I have to agree with you here. I remember when Montoya came into F1, even though me and all my mates were Schumi disciples it was exciting to see somebody take the fight to Schumi, and that's something Motoya did. This is why I loved Hakkinnen, he took the fight to Schumi and to this day I still say Mika is the only driver out there that Schumi truly feared and respected...
