Bad appendix. - I ain't instigating and suffering through this for a few mc days mate!

I wasn't suggesting you actually get a bad appendix. I used this excuse once and my place of work never asked for any doctors letters, presumably because it sounds like such a detailed, outlandish experience.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. When I said 3-4 days I meant on separate days, they don't have to be at one go.

Some nice suggestions there, but the thing is I need the doc to believe me and give me the damn mc....many suggestions here are difficult to 'create'. For example, food poisoning and headaches don't leave much 'signs' so the doc has little choice but to hand you the letter. :D

A virus is a good one - what kind?
Pulled your back-cant move - this is good...I see 1 day mc here.
Throat infection - the doc won't see any signs
Chest infection - I'll need to cough like hell in the examination room?
Migraine - I've never had this before...what are the symptoms? I might use this.

Light flu or a bad cold will last 4 days. - True that, I wouldn't mind getting a flu but I dont fall sick easy. :P

:P

Are you in the uk? You get a week self-certification, only need the doc for longer periods.

Migraine- very bad headache, vomiting, sensitive to light
Virus- say you feel achey and tired, headache

Fleeting dose of Malaria?
#284116
Seriously man, just because it rhymes with Malaysia doesn't mean its common here!

Flu is the most common in Malaysia thanks the heavy rain and 'heavy' sunlight. Though faking a flu isn't that easy...you need some wicked sound effect skills mimicking mucus and what not.

RC, in Malaysia even if you take a day off you need a freakin doctor's letter. So yes even if you're dying, drive yourself to the nearest doc and get the damn letter! :bs:

How bout an allergy? I know a friend of mine who has a horrible time during pollen season. I suppose you could say you accidentally ingested some food that you are allergic to. It usually goes away after a couple of days and slight medication.

Or you could say you are allergic to coming to work? :D

If you go for flu you'll need to get ure temperature up. Use onions to make your eyes run. Rub them as well to make them red.

Another one. Say you feel lethargic, tired, no energy, depressed. . That could be anything from depression, stress, thyroid problem, anaemia. To find out he'll have to do blood tests. Lay it on thick and you might get signed off for a day or two while he investigates.

Say you felt it coming on on Sunday night and when you got up as normal on Monday you were worse. No need to fanny about and you just week to sound croaky on the phone.

I think they might see through this one.

See you guys think about the excuse....where you just have to sound sick over the phone to your 'superior'. Well I dont have any problems doing that, but I need to go see a qualified doc (panel clinic registered with my co.) and the doc will see I have no flu.

Anyway thanks for all the input, I did benefit from them thank you all kindly! Shall put on my best academy award "sickly" performance.
