I've just heard the news from two colleagues and came to read about it here.
I wasn't thinking about the threes, I was thinking about pairs. A couple of days ago, or probably even last night, I remember thinking that these things come in twos. And I was fearful about the race in India - which was unusually superstitous of me.
For example, Senna and Ratzenberger, or even Massa and Surtees last year, or even on a much smaller scale, Perez and Petrov at Monaco. But if you are looking for your third and it will make you at peace to find your third, look at Kubica this year.
It took me most of the week to get over Dan Wheldon's death and I didn't know him. But Simoncelli? I wouldn't go so far to say he's my favourite rider, but I would go as far to say that whenever I was watching a MotoGP Race or checking the final standings, I was always looking to see where Marco would finish up. I looked forward to a press conference that he gave earlier this year, and I do love his personality - but similar to Hamilton I felt that he needed to work on a few things and very promptly.
I don't think I want to watch the video - but it would perhaps be a lot clearer than Wheldon and Senna's deaths to tell me exactly what happened.
I will however, say that, going into this grand prix, all the drivers will take more note of the risks than usual and not do stupid things.

#5 Vettel!
